Well that would depend on if they are scanning the passport or just looking at it. I'm not sure what they currently do actually but I've seen passports in pretty rough condition, so I assume its safe.

if they have a reason to track you they can. come on you dont think your tracked now. as dude said SS cards, unemployment, bank records, payroll taxes, income taxes, hell the little card you swipe at the store. why do you think after you sign up you get all the sale adds targeted to your shopping habits.

you can buy this information. i was helping bring a restaurant out of the red. and part of the target marketing, a company came in with stats on all parts of the town. average age, wages, dinning habits, average spent on grocery's, all kind of things. that info was just to see how much you ate out, and how much you spend so i could send you a coupon for free mashed potatoes to get you to buy the chicken.

really what you have to be worried about. your on the net, at a site thats all about growing marijuana probably got a batch going. if you where do something really wrong,worth their attention, then maybe you should be tracked.

in my opinion there is not a way to prevent it. how do you stop the technology. its been here for years. as dude said SS cards.

let me argue this point then. you don't think society would benefit if we could track all legal aliens, sex offenders, and murders, and the worst of all criminals "politicians".

what about immigration. you want to come in legally, then here is your chip. now try not to pay taxes. cops on the street wont have to take up time with illegal aliens, no chip deportación.

illegal alien workers, hell unions could walk on to a job site, no chip deportación. now joe public gets a chance at a union job.

it goes on and on. so why would the average citizen be afraid of this technology. its already there. has been since you where conceived, or got your first shots for school, first bank account. so unless your out to blow up a building or traffic in hard drugs, or a predator of some sort. what is there to fear. i am not insinuating anything just asking a question.

the internet- hell they took this idea and perfected it.

now that you see that it already all over your person and home and car.
imagine this.

i am just going to get you from bed to work.

you get dressed and to kitchen for coffee. its ready and waiting, because when you turned the shower off the coffee maker started to brew.

you driving to work have to go through the toll, the gas station, car wash, the coffee stop, and did not have to swipe, carry, go to the bank for cash, anything.

park your car. no meters, parking attendant, go to work no time clock, paychecks, w2 form, I-9s, no physical cause your chip has all that info

so far the only bad thing i could see with the chip and all the technology that could be applied to it, would be that i don't get to see that really hot blond in payroll because i don't have to pick up my check anymore.

one last thing, while you where on your way to work, your wife and kids got into a accident, there unconscious, each of them are allergic to the meds that the paramedic is going to give them when he gets there.

when the ambulance gets the call, all that info was already sent to them before they even got it out of park. thank god they had that chip.

First of all, I think you did a great job in laying out that scenario.

Second, I think handing over to government that much power is very scary.

For one thing, in your scenario, you pointed out that the chip would act like a debit card. This means that someone, probably an employer, would have to download "credits" into the chip as you earn what used to be "money." This would cement the cashless society into place for good.
How are you gonna off ounces with no cash and only a Vchip?
