Med's wife is a tax preparer. By Med's own admission, she has clients who even travel from out of state to have her do their taxes.

If we went to a simple federal sales tax (The Fair Tax), Med's income would drop dramatically. So, when Med is here in support of the IRS and the current tax system, he is essentially "licking the hand that feeds him."
