A Gay Rights Revival!

Right now in the USA, discrimination against homosexuals is the highest I have seen since the late 80's....Back then, I would hear stories about gay men being randomly targeted while walking down the streets of 'gay neighborhoods'. Randomly targeted with violence. These people sometimes were beaten to a bloody pulp with absolutely NO JUSTICE! These 'fags' would be killed sometimes.....

This Rick Santorum guy has fucked up the USA by spreading hatred towards homos on a national level- during the 2012 presidential election, he openly expressed disgust towards homos.....and he made it clear that if elected, these gays/lesbians would have to deal with discriminations that were no longer around a few yrs ago- They would have to give up the freedoms and rights that have been gained since the late 80's early 90's.......would u give up freedoms after they were finally gained?

What makes these politicians think they can dictate morality thru politics? I don't care who the fuck u r.....I/we all put your ass in office and now that u r elected, u don't give a fuck about citzens of the USA anymore

Fuck homophobia- it has no place in politics

And this is why I voted 4 Obama - he supports the inalienable rights of gay and lesbian people....rights that are guaranteed by the US constitution! Such great words that are often neglected

My rant: fuck you, who cares if someone is gay or lesbian? It's none of my business

Gay peace and rights, my brothers! Love your friendly gay person cuz they are people just like u, really......it's just the sexual preference!

San Francisco has a gay revival just about every other weekend. If there were anymore gay revivals around here,
then it would be a crime to be heterosexual.

If yous didn't act like whiney little girls it might help, make it a non-issue as it should be.

Don't try politicise your sexuality the way conservatives do, cos they'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Govt should have no part whatsoever in people's relationships and politicians use gay rights purely for "political capital", whether they are for or against it.

Whiny little girls... interesting. We have had to fight for every inch of ground we have gained. Which isn't very much. You can't possibly understand the plight of LGBT folk in the U.S. so don't even try. Your opening statement is a blatant bigoted slur and you don't even give a shit. Non-issue? People are dying from this non-issue, being openly and proudly discriminated against, hated, denigrated, beaten, demonized and banned from equal status. You know what Harrekin, go fuck yourself.

And if someone is attacked for whatever reason...there's already laws against assault, is there not?

I support equal rights FOR ALL, I know LOADS of gay people and they think its disgraceful the politicisation of their sexuality.

That said, US politicians arnt interested in the rights of the gay community, it's used purely for political kudos.

For example, Barack said he support marriage rights for gay people...where are they? Why hasn't it been done yet?

You have to politicize it when the current laws make you a second class citizen
And as far as where are these rights for Gays?
that is a question that needs to be asked of congress
especially those on the republican side

No, when you politicise it you turn it into a "I don't really support it, but my views will "evolve" to suit grabbing votes.

If you really wanted equal rights for everyone, change the system.

We use PR, it ensures every section of society gets a REAL voice in Govt.

  10. Required all grant applicants seeking HUD funding to comply with state and local anti-discrimination laws that protect LGBT individuals

  13. Extended the Family and Medical Leave Act to cover employees taking unpaid leave to care for the children of same-sex partners

I worked as hard as anybody to get them confirmed. I look you in the eye and tell you I've said a thousand times that I wanted Alito and Roberts. I have told anybody who will listen. "One of the things the decider-in-chief has to do is decide whether he’s going to bring this country together across all its diversity or let it drift apart. Look at how much stronger the American military is because it is less racist, less sexist and less homophobic and we’re just looking for people who can do the job," said Clinton.

What exactly is your opinion, it's ok to be gay but not Mormon? I support your right to voice your idiotic opinion, but I can't for the life of me figure out where you stand.

Man, I don't think that politicians are using this specific issue for political reasons... Especially democrats... If anything, so many democrats have been closeted pro same sex marriage for a long time. Perhaps it is a little cowardly for them to come out of the closet when it is "safer". Perhaps that is what you meant?

As far as electability, I believe we are at the tail end of the pro same sex marriage stance being a liability, not something to gain from. Compared to making no stance at all that is. I was surprised to see Barack come out in favor. 2016 Democrat, sure. As a person who votes nearly 100% on social issues, I was pleasantly surprised.

So when is Obama actually gonna follow through and change legislation to suit the plight of gay people?

Never, the DOMA repeal was purely to get more meat for the grinder bro, he needs fuel for his war machine.

So...? Second term then? Continue to live on a prayer?

Or vote Libertarian, the party where you could fuck a goat if you want to, as long as it isn't someone else's goat.
