Wow, how does that work? Making 1000 bucks a week and you get back 1400 total bucks from taxes??
I make a little over 1k a week and I paid quite a freaking bit in taxes, was nothing coming back from Feds or State. I had to PAY PAY PAY.
Matter of fact, paid my last 1300 bucks Sept. 13th.
Buy a house, have a kid?
Stop claiming 15 deductions?

I'm interested where you got the €26000 @42% tax rate info from
It's called "Higher Rate" tax, it's once you exceed the 26,000ish threashold you pay 42%, and because tax credits only apply to (or are "used up") the first 3,000ish of tax it only covers the first €15,000ish of pay.

(All figures have messy cent amounts, rounded for simplicity).

Fucking Socialist Republic :( :( :(

and you can thank republicans for helping to create this number that they now complain about.

the bush tax cuts alone put about 8 million households into the "no net tax liability" category. other bipartisan bills, like the child tax credit, EITC, and others credits that incentivize work also add to that number.

what's missing is that a majority of that 47% pay payroll taxes: 61% of them to be exact. that means that they work. a good percentage of the rest are elderly, meaning they worked all their lives.

but according to romney, these retired folks and low wage workers and struggling families are self-described victims with entitlement mentalities who refuse to take responsibility for their lives. just a slap in the face to all the hard working men and women across this country.

sickening.
What is truely dispicable is the fact that if Romney gets his way and reduces taxes across the board - he will create even more victims.

some people will see taxes as a paper cut, i see taxes in another light, as the bridges/roads i use on my commute, as the school i went to as a child that gave me an education. none of it is free, taxes are not the boogeyman. my only problem with taxes IMO is they go to under-performing politicians who live off a pension and get medical coverage the average united states citizen could only dream of.

Why you must be brainwashed, you must have fallen for all the stuff that the left leaning radio and TV commentators fill you head with, you must have been finally led astray by all that money the government spends to have you believe the way you do. Can't you see that government is the source of all problems and taxes are the blood that circulates around government veins?

i wonder if romney is also a victim.

he should release his taxes so we can make sure that he is not a victim or anything.

I saw a clip from a prior debate in which Romney was present - he said something to the effect of - "if that tax rate was in effect I wouldn't pay taxes at all".

I more and more suspect that indeed, Romney is a poor, unknowing government leach who doesn't pay income tax (for at least two years)
