So, what is it really about then?
With anti-American demonstrations exploding across the Muslim world, the White House is insisting that the deadly attack on U.S. diplomats in Libya and violent protests targeting U.S. facilities in Egypt and several other countries are entirely the result of an anti-Islamic video on YouTube.
“This is a fairly volatile situation and it is in response not to United States policy, not to obviously the administration, not to the American people,” White House spokesman Jay Carney said Friday. “It is in response to a video, a film that we have judged to be reprehensible and disgusting. That in no way justifies any violent reaction to it, but this is not a case of protests directed at the United States writ large or at U.S. policy. This is in response to a video that is offensive to Muslims.”
Questioned at length about the causes of the anti-American violence, Carney insisted it was all about the movie. “The reason why there is unrest is because of the film,” he said at one point. “This is in response to the film.” At another moment, he said, “The cause of the unrest was a video.” At yet another, “These protests were in reaction to a video that had spread to the region.”
it is about the video on youtube the muslems are even holding up signs saying to get the movie takein down lol its not just obama its everyone fox news every one they had reporters there before it even happend it was a planed protest aginst that movie the film potrayed allot of shitty stuff about muhamid there profit so there were pretty pissed off the building was evacuated before the protest
Actually the lie is yours. The attack on Benghazi and Cairo were coordinated terrorist attacks that used Al Qaeda tactics. Whether they're a branch of Al Qaeda or not is still being speculated. But the attacks were in retaliation for the killing of Al Libbi (sp?). They planned from the get-go to stage this assault on 9/11. The rest of the protests were in response to the video. The timing was purely coincidental and by design. The man who released the video wanted to whip up anti-Muslim sentiment around the time of the 9/11 remembrance. He was fucking stupid for posting the video as were the people for protesting. Stupid piled on top of stupid.
“Racism is simply an uglyform of collectivism.
Racism will endure until we stop thinking in terms of groups, and begin thinking in terms of individual liberty.” ~Ron Paul
But but, the president of Libya’s National Congress says otherwise!
The attack that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans took place on the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. That may simply be a coincidence, but if so, it would be a pretty big one.
In his interview, Mohamed Yusuf al-Magariaf, the president of Libya’s National Congress, said Libya had arrested 50 people, many connected to al-Qaeda. That would certainly bolster the notion that the date — Sept. 11 — was not a coincidence. He also said a few of those arrested were from other countries.
It is in Magariaf’s interest to emphasize that this tragedy does not reflect anti-American feelings by the Libyan people, especially because Stevens was a well-liked diplomat in the country. But he was also emphatic that “the way these perpetrators acted and moved” and the “specific date for this so-called demonstration” make it clear that the attack was planned.
“It was planned by foreigners, by people who entered the country a few months ago, and they were planning this criminal act since their arrival,” he said.
Perhaps this is why the Obama administration thought is was all about video!
Why is Obama skipping more than half of his daily intelligence meetings?
The Government Accountability Institute, examined President Obama’s schedule from the day he took office until mid-June 2012, to see how often he attended his Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) — the meeting at which he is briefed on the most critical intelligence threats to the country. During his first 1,225 days in office, Obama attended his PDB just 536 times — or 43.8 percent of the time. During 2011 and the first half of 2012, his attendance became even less frequent — falling to just over 38 percent. By contrast, Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush almost never missed his daily intelligence meeting.
