People outside of Maine would be amazed at the politics here. Our current asshat of a governor didn't even garner 50% of the vote. The Dem vote got split by the Dem candidate and the Dem he lost to in the primary. Thanks to
Cutler the state has had to endure an obnoxious oaf of a teabagger for too long now. Hell, I wish Angus would run for governor again. Anything, even a turtle would be less embarrassing and damaging to the state than that fat POS Lepage

They learned all these tactics from the democrat party in California who did the same exact thing during the GOP primaries.

I think what you are trying to say is that you paid a poll tax to vote in a STATE election, not a federal one. Federal poll taxes were eliminated in 1962 by the passage of the 24th amendment.

I'm sure you're right about that, NoDrama. I made no distinction. Maine's was eliminated in 1978 evidently.
