more likely desperately trying to stave off a lawsuit.

your cited stories are very vague on the actual details i want to know. if they had the hall reserved, and paid for the ceremony and the accommodations they should be suing the church for breach of contract, and civil rights violations.

    they are not doing that.

    it all smells fishy

the pastor marrying them in a different location is non sequitor

the allegations that some of the congregation are racist is also non sequitor

basically CNN's lack of skill at reporting the facts makes most of their reportage non sequitor.

i saw an interview with him regarding it and tbh, i got the impression that he sincerely disagreed with the minority of his congregation that made a stink but was not willing to lose his job to take a stand.

    Yup
    I'm guessing like all churches
    There is a inner circle
they decide a lot of things including whether to fire and hire the pastors

Most definitely true of the churches i've attended. That's ONE of the major reasons i no longer attend ANY church.

I place "malt liquor" in a separate, less dignified category than actual beer. Beer is a pleasure; malt liquor is a drug. cn

    Olde English.

either the malt liquor or the furniture polish. either one works just as well, but Lemon Pledge has more zzzz-zzzzzz-zz-zing!

i stil dont buy the story cnn is trying so hard to manufacture outrage over. it just doesnt track.
