Default Ask Not What Your Country Can Do For You.

"Ask not what your country can do for you--ask what you can do for your country."

Is this what President John F. Kennedy had in mind when he made that famous speech?

Only half of US citizens pay federal income tax, according to the latest available figures. In 2009, just 50.5% of Americans paid any income tax to the federal government -- the lowest proportion in at least half a century.

The decreasing number of taxpayers threatens government revenues, and could also cause resentment from those who believe that welfare recipients are taking money out of the economy.

151.7million US citizens paid no federal income tax in 2009, according to figures compiled by the Heritage Foundation. In 1984, the middle of the Reagan era, 85% of Americans paid federal income tax, meaning just 34.8million people did not.

How can anyone deny the fact that America is becoming a nation of lazy freeloaders.

    lol.

funny how the heritage foundation omits that about a third of the nation (105 million people) is below age 15 or above age 65.

so we have 45 million or so people between age 15 and 65 paying no income taxes out of 310+ million, about 15%.

add together the unemployed, disabled, stay at home moms and dads, college students, and trust fund babies, and we see that we have a very small number of able bodied people people not paying income taxes.

not to mention people like me, who are begging to pay taxes on my treadmill production and sales. let's not forget tax cheats like incognition! and under the table workers, too.

so i'm going to go ahead and deny your retarded assertion that we are a nation full of lazy freeloaders, herr beenqueer.

LMAO Only a stupid fuck like you Bucky, wouldn't be able to figure out the same demographics were used in 1984.
So in 1964 they also counted people between age 15 and 65 paying no income taxes, the unemployed, disabled, stay at home moms and dads, college students, and trust fund babies.
Do you try hard at being wrong or are you just stoned out of your gourd all the time.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- More than one in three Americans lived in households that received Medicaid, food stamps or other means-based government assistance in mid-2010, according to a new report.
The federal government sent a record $2 trillion to individuals in fiscal 2010, up nearly 75% from 10 years earlier.

The number of Americans receiving food stamps rose from 17.9 million in 1980 to 46.2million today.

In June 1992, nearly 3.3 million workers were receiving federal disability payments — equaling to about one person relying on such payments for every 35.5 people in the labor force. In May of this year, there were 8.7 million workers taking federal disability payments. That equaled 1 worker taking disability payments for each 16.3 people working.CNS News reports.

If this isn't proof of Americans
becoming much more reliant on government, you're a blind fool.

OMFG! do you mean to say that a whopping 2.7% of people in this nation are on disability?

    STOP THE MOTHERFUCKING PRESSES!

those fucking lazy freeloaders, how dare they be disabled!

herr beenqueer, you should start a "put the lazy disabled freeloaders back to work" campaign. it's what you were meant for. it's your calling.

your other calling is abusing gangly, sickly, yellow twigs and bragging about it to better growers than yourself.

Participation in the Department of Agriculture's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, the program to which "food stamps" refers, has increased from an average of 28.2 million people per month in FY 2008 to 46.2 million as of October 2011.

That's not trickle down dipshit, that's Obominomics!

i think you both are trying to skew the statistics and underplay the points of your choosing.

Most people who claim disability (that i know) are actually able to preform many jobs with out interfering with there issue. and if not why does the gov not create jobs tailored to there needs to allow them for serve a purpose and earn their money? I am all for government "AID", but not government dependence.

I'm not skewing a thing, the statistics I posted are from the department of labor.
Am I suggesting many of the people on government disability may not deserve it, yes I am.
What other explanation is there for the number of people collecting federal disability almost tripling in the last twenty years! With all the new safety regulations since 1992, you would think the amount of disability claims would have went down. So either most of these regulations are useless or more people are faking claims.
