Yes, lets get our gov involved in something they cant already freaking control. How much fraud does medical medicare have each year?

The total amount of Medicare fraud is difficult to track, because not all fraud is detected and not all suspicious claims turn out to be fraudulent. The Medicare program is a target for fraud because it is based on the "honor system" of billing. It was originally set-up to help honest doctors who helped the needy with medical services.

"The Republicans who originated the 16,500 job figure on March 18 are on the House Ways and Means Committee. That's the committee with jurisdiction over tax matters, and the GOP members' analysis made clear how the numbers were derived -- much clearer than the rhetoric being voiced by some of the lawmakers. Ranking committee Republican Dave Camp of Michigan called the IRS's reach under the health-care bill "a dangerous expansion of the IRS's power and reach into the lives of virtually every American."
His figure comes from extrapolating numbers from an independent Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis. The CBO analysis said the IRS might have to spend $5 billion to $10 billion administering the health-care bill in its first decade. But the CBO never examined exactly how the IRS would spend that administration money -- nor did it say that a specific sum would go for new agents who would use federal policing powers to make sure Americans have acceptable coverage.
Ways and Means Republicans got the 16,500 job figure by making calculations based on what they called "reasonable assumptions," which include current IRS payroll figures. Yet the job figure could just as likely shrink to 5,900 if the lower end of the CBO estimate, or $5 billion, is used, PolitiFact says.
That's still a lot of new IRS jobs.
But most of those jobs -- and the IRS has not yet determined a number -- will not go to audit Americans to make sure they are buying insurance, IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman told a Ways and Means subcommittee on March 25. Rather, Shulman said the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will probably gather that information from insurers. HHS will provide it in turn to the taxpayer and the IRS, so families and businesses can get tax credits with which to buy coverage, just as they get deductions for interest on their mortgages."
