I wish that were true. Unfortunately, the Dems and Reps are both in the blood up to their elbows. The only way to peacefully end the drug war is for voters to stop electing drug warriors to Congress and the presidency. That ain't gonna happen, though. Just look at RIU, a bunch of self proclaimed pot heads, even here there is only mild support for ending the drug war.

You know thinking about it, Obama has a very liberal stance on drugs when he went into office. What do you think changed it? What are we not seeing?

Well, I am voting for Gary Johnson and against all the incumbents in California where I have a say, that is my small contribution to ending the insanity.

I will leave the Obama/Romney supporters to defend their positions.

In Obama's 1st campaign, marijuana was not that big of an issue due to the ppl that he was running against. Now that Romney is his main competitor Obama has to actually win the votes of hard blooded republicans and many of them do not like marijuana use. His new stance on marijuana is for votes. simple as that.

He is afraid he will lose votes for being too soft so he is playing politics. Politician = liar. Obama is one of my favorite liars though, since a third of the country has MMJ for the first time in decades. Hate him all you want but I call that progress in the right direction.
