Default Police put on notice in Indiana: illegally raid someones home, be prepared to be shot

(NaturalNews) Most of us are supportive of our local police departments but because of a lousy state Supreme Court decision in Indiana last year, residents of the state now have the right to shoot at officers in defense of their property if they believe they are being improperly raided.

Not surprisingly, most police officers are upset about the law, which was signed by Gov. Mitch Daniels in March, because they believe now it will be "open season" on law enforcement officers.
But supporters say the law will encourage nothing of the kind. They say its sole purpose is to allow homeowners the same rights they've always had - to defend their property with deadly force, if necessary, even if that means defending it against "public servants" who illegally enter homes and automobiles.

Thats good. My uncle is a judge and he told me just how easy it is for cops to actually get a search warrant when it comes to possible grow ops. All a cop has to do is present a judge with a picture of a bag of potting soil. Or say the house has "abnormal high traffic" indicating possible drug deals. We work our entire lives to pay off our homes, our checks get taxed, we pay taxes on the home..Just for people to dictate what we can and cannot do in the privacy in our home?

IMO this is a step in the right direction. LEO's have been losing respect in the public view for the last decade, people are tired of the hypocritical system. Think cops don't drink and drive, smoke ganja, speed, lie on their taxes, etc? On top of that you have the small towns, that only have a few hundred people that 6 full time officers each with their own car, and the chief drives a 60k SUV and all they do is speed trap and write tickets for doing 2 over the speed limit. It so bad that my state had to write into law that any department that makes more than 50% of their income off traffic violations are subject to investigation. On top of that you almost see daily a cop stun gunning children, beating the homeless or mentally handicapped, or full out murder. Thats my biggest problem with Obama he wants to increase LEO's across the board, small states and rural areas don't need them, in fact we need more control on the ones we have. I am sure its different for large gang riddled cities but not so everywhere else.

not sure what use this is going to be to anyone once you start dropping cops the chances of you walking out of there falls pretty significantly whether they were supposed to be there or not

Yeah we just need some kind of checks and balances on LEO's. This is has gotten out of hand.

True, but the line has been drawn. Maybe some of these fatass stupid cops will think twice before busting into a house that they don't know squat about and didn't really have probable cause to raid in the first place. Police seem to think they are 'bullet-proof' because they wear all kinds of armor and gear. I haven't seen a human yet that can take a direct bullet to the eye socket and live. I have seen guys at the shooting range that always seemed to aim right between the eyes on the mannequin targets. Makes sense now.

man, you should come to my state.. a year or two ago, they severely cut down on state aid, so it has since passed that some of the funds that cops get from righting tickets now goes directly to the dpts..
ever since, i have seen a huge rise in my small towns police force pulling people over for all kinds of reasons.. i don't see how this is legal, but it sure as shit is..
