The one thing I'll say for Buckley he was an eloquent speaker. You needed a dictionary close by when he was speaking to decipher his speeches. Even Buckley denounced the Bush regime.

Buckley was a terrific debater. I remember seeing him on TV debating a so-called liberal genius. The liberal made the statement that there was nothing that couldn't be improved. Buckley sat back and smiled ... then said: "Oh, I don't know about that. It would be pretty difficult to improve on Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata."

I about fell off my chair in laughter. Priceless!

I watched a few of his old debates on youtube last night. Made Chomsky look foolish........ I ordered his book, "Let us talk of many things". Should be a good read. "Anthem" is next though...........
