I'm quite surprised Obama is winning by 2 fold.

I guess that means all the anti-obama people are just a loud minority (on this site anyways, who knows about IRL).

This site is a long way from real life. But it actually serves an example for the nation in terms of what Obama did in 08 compared to this year. In 08 it was probably 9 out of ten here. So this year Romney gets the McCain 10% plus another 20+% taken away from Obama.

Obama had a fragile coalition in 08. He picked up a lot of people that ordinarily would not have voted for a very liberal democrat. With that extra margin he narrowly won states like FL, VA, NC, OH, IN plus others. This time, if he loses that band out of the center, he won't carry any of those states. What can he do to get the coalition back together? I think that kind of thinking explains some of his recent behaviors like the gay marriage rapid evolution, and the unseemly sniping at Bush. He's learning the hard way that it's a lot easier to stand on the outside and throw stones and promises, than to defend a record. Especially when your record sucks.

Redonkulous is anyone who won't acknowledge that Obama is on record as saying single payer is the ultimate goal. But this is a good example of what we will se much of - democrats claiming with a straight face that is is "they" who want to cut deficits and "they" who respect the private sector.
