no ...I'm just glad the age is 21 to drink, but I do understand anyones argument that it should be younger due to the fact you can vote and die for your country at 18. I just wouldn't want a bunch of 18 year olds with a free pass to get drunk whenever the wanted. With drinking comes responsibilty as well.

Selecting arbitrary ages for unfettered access to liquor, tobacco, guns etc... is a sound policy for a government, but suggesting that the difference between 18 and 21 is in any way significant is kinda silly. never in the history of humanity has a motivated teenage lad been prevented from acquiring his preferred intoxicant. As well to try and hold back the ocean with a tea towel.

furthermore, parents have always had final discretion in the use of anything for their kids. the age limits on gun purchases are really quite new, and 50 years ago you wouldnt have been able to pass those laws. expressing disdain for somebody else's personal choice in intoxicants is the height of hypocrisy. I like cannabis, booze peyote and coffee, some people like cocaine, pcp, lsd, heroine, or some other chemical brain lubricant. If they like it, and use it responsibly thats just fine with me.

i know a lot of mormons, and they generally dont care for any of the shit i like, but they also dont try and stop me from enjoying my favorite chemicals as long as im responsible. Thats why im not afraid of Mitt Romney. Even in Utah you can find a starbucks, and buy a pack of camels, or a sixer of Lowenbrau. Mormons may be uptight, but if they really wanted to do it, they could ban, or put a minimum drinking age on your cinnamon dusted skinny soy latte in utah.

europeans let kids drink wine at an early age...parents need to teach kids how to handle and not abuse liquor ..making dumb ass laws only forces it underground and behind the parents back....i would prefer my kid to drink at my home and not drive ..then to be in parks or on railroad tracks with their friends drinking and driving...the problem is this country has turned into a bunch of pussies and everybody sues everyone...so a parent can not let their kid have 2 or 3 friends over for a few beers because the cops and other parents would overreact.

I don't know ...I was a totally different person at 21 then I was at 18 ..I would hope that you would be a different person when you left college then when you went in...The same for if you first joined the military and 3 years later..
