Let me start by saying I like women. My mother is one. I'm married to one. I have a daughter that I cherish. I'm pretty sure that God is at least as female as God is male, probably more. Okay? I could go on, but you get the idea. I'm not a misogynist.

Let's think about the world now. Fucked up as it is, many cultures, interestingly enough, the ones we seem to have the most trouble with, do not hold women in the same high esteem that I do.

Will the middle eastern countries, some of which don't allow women to drive or show their faces in public, let alone vote, take a United States with a woman at the helm seriously? I'm not asking if they should. Certainly they should. I'm not asking if they can. Will they? Or will they bitch-slap her just on principle? I'm wondering if this is the best time in history to give a woman a seat in what is arguably the most powerful office in the world. Yes, it would send a message, but would the message be received? I haven't heard this issue raised, but it seems fundamental to me.

I know that this question is not politically correct. I'm just looking at the reality of the situation. Am I just plain wrong to ask?
