| | Bush pardened himself and all his cabinet within the last bill passed by an impotent congress for all wrong doings past present and future. The only way to prosecute these villans will be a criminal court or the hague. |

Since 9/11 there have been more laws that take away your rights and freedoms. So much so the ACLU has filed lawsuits on your behalf saying that they are unconstitutional. The Patriot Act, FISA, all the other laws that add to those two. Yes Congress might make laws, but aren't we the ones the laws are suppose to help and protect? When the law enforcement community can arrest you and hold you indefinitely under The Patriot Act without allowing you to call or hire an attorney. When they can listen to all your phone calls under FISA without warrants. You still think you have the rights and freedoms of pre 9/11!?!
Yes at one time we were a Republic with laws that helped and protected the citizens. But post 9/11 the laws are slowly eroding your civil/constitutional rights that soldiers have fought and died over in multiple wars. I'm not including Iraq, Vietnam (Called a Police Action, but not by soldiers).
And the Democratic Congress are allowing all of Bushes policies to pass without any debate. So they are actually helping to get rid of your rights and freedoms that the Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc., allow.
The only way to get these rights and freedoms back is complain to your Congressmen and Women. Also complain to the President. And before you say, that you can't complain to the president. It happens every four years, we call it an election. Vote the people out of office, don't donate to their campaigns and this will be more of a complaint to them than you think.
And since you want to resort to insults I have something that I have to ask. Did your parents not raise you with any manners? Did they not raise you with any decorum of humanity?
If you think this is still a Republic go to this website and read The Patriot Act and all laws made to enforce it more. Also read FISA and all laws related to it and their enforcement. THOMAS (Library of Congress) |

| | smokedoper,
Whether you agree or disagree with the workings of our government is NOT the point. Our form of government is a republic. It is not a democracy. It is not a theocracy. A republic is what it is called by the government documents. That is what it appears to be. It is in fact a republic. This is not a debatable point. To suggest otherwise, when polite evidence was offered, would make you seem foolish.

I am of the belief that the purpose of Congress is to ensure the "freedom" of the people. I don't argue that we have lost sight of what a republic truly means, but what are your designs to bring us back to the Constitution? I try to be optimistic, but I'm afraid we are heading for either a fascist state or revolution. For the moment, I will vote for representatives with records that are proven to uphold the Constitution and not "the lesser of two evils". Will you vote in this upcoming election? |

| | Since the elite and neocons are spending money to suppress the vote I will definitely be voting ... I don't like the choices from the two corrupted parties for pres ... I will probably vote for the dem running for congress ... and vote indy for pres ...
... by aiding the people I feel congress can do certain things to help the working class ... and keep corporations from exploiting the people ... instead they do the opposite ...
... what I would like to see done is getting corporations out of the voting process ... make it civil servants that do hand ballot counts ... if they can do it in other counties ... we can do it here too ... get rid of the dim leadership and get some fresh dems in power to do what they were elected to do ... until we can get open verifiable elections with no secret counting of ballots by corporations with a vested interested in the winner ... we will have to continue to deal with crime and corruption ... or have a revolution ...
... I share your fear ... we are indeed headed towards a fascist state ... in fact I think we are pretty much there ... |

| | 2002 was stolen too ... | | Check it ... GOP cyber-security expert suggests Diebold tampered with 2002 election Spoonamore received the Diebold patch from a whistleblower close to the office of Cathy Cox, Georgia's then-Secretary of State. In discussions with RAW STORY, the whistleblower -- who wishes to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation -- said that he became suspicious of Diebold's actions in Georgia for two reasons. The first red flag went up when the computer patch was installed in person by Diebold CEO Bob Urosevich, who flew in from Texas and applied it in just two counties, DeKalb and Fulton, both Democratic strongholds. The source states that Cox was not privy to these changes until after the election and that she became particularly concerned over the patch being installed in just those two counties. |

| | More Exciting News on the Election Fraud Front | | There have been several reports of election fraud and cracked voting machines ... this is the first chance I've had to post them ... definitely going to be some fraud this election ... Ohio Voting Machines Contained Programming Error That Dropped Votes A voting system used in 34 states contains a critical programming error that can cause votes to be dropped while being electronically transferred from memory cards to a central tallying point, the manufacturer acknowledges. The problem was identified after complaints from Ohio elections officials following the March primary there, but the logic error that is the root of the problem has been part of the software for 10 years, said Chris Riggall, a spokesman for Premier Election Solutions, formerly known as Diebold.
"...but the logic error that is the root of the problem has been part of the software for 10 years"
I challenge all those lawyers who were working so hard to prove that Obama was not eligible for the Presidency (for the good of the people) to prove that We The People are not legally liable to pay the bills for all the mistakes made by the government for the last ten years, since it cannot be proved they had the legal authority to make those decisions on our behalf. Seven Ways Your Vote Might Not Count This November Voter Purges Unprocessed Voter Registrations Obstacles to Student Voting Voting Machine Allocations Poll Worker Shortages Partisan Voter Challenges Early Voting/Absentee Ballot Problems Company acknowledges voting machine error A major voting machine maker has cautioned its customers in 34 states to look out for a programming error that may cause votes to be dropped.
You're telling me that the country that put men in the Moon and the company that makes ATM machines that never lose a penny from one end of the country to another cannot make an honest, accurate, fair, and tamper proof voting system?
I don't buy it. Elections 2008: Voting machine companies will be COUNTING the vote As we approach the 2008 general election, the structure of elections in the United States — once reliant on local representatives accountable to the public — has become almost wholly dependent on large corporations, which are not accountable to the public. Election Fraud is NOT the Real Problem - The Entire System is Corrupt! I am tired of hearing pathetic Democrats cry about stolen elections. Fine...it has been proven that George W. Bush and his handlers stole the last two presidential elections. The evidence is voluminous. The fact is that we have been living under the rule of enemies domestic for almost eight years and Congress, along with our military, have allowed these enemies of the state to remain in control of our government. Doesn't that tell you something? Don't you see a larger problem here? ... plenty of dummies out there still denying the FACTS ... of course the Columbus Dispatch when out of their way to ignore the facts ... ’04 Election Apologists Still Unmoved By Mountain of Evidence: Columbus Dispatch Ignores Facts Columbus Dispatch articles explaining the 2004 election irregularities all embrace the same formula: ignore the more than 1000 signed affidavits and sworn testimonies of disenfranchised voters; rely only on the word of OSU Law Professor Dan Tokaji who has no background in statistical analysis and who always tells the Dispatch whatever they want to hear; and then apologize for former Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell and fail to mention what is routinely reported in every other major newspaper in the state of Ohio.
"You will believe the elections are honest and fair.
You will believe the elections are honest and fair.
You will believe the elections are honest and fair.
You will believe the elections are honest and fair." -- ABCNNBBCBS Voting Machine Doubts Linger Four of of ten American voters will be casting ballots this November on equipment that's different from what they used in 2004. One reason is the doubts raised about ATM-syle electronic touch-screen machines, which have prompted half a dozen states to turn them off and turn back to paper ballots.
Unfortunately those paper ballots are counted by electronic machines subject to tampering and fraud.
I mean, here we are, the nation that put men on the Moon, with ATM machines that do not lose a penny from one end of the nation to another, and we cannot come up with an accurate and honest elections system?
I don't buy that. More vote fraud in Ohio? In 2004, election integrity activists challenged the results of Ohio's presidential election before the Ohio Supreme Court, and convinced Rep. Stephanie Tubbs-Jones (D-OH) and Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) to challenge the state's Electoral College vote before a joint session of Congress. The reaction by Ohio's then Republican-controlled Legislature was to enact a series of election reforms that punished likely Democratic voters. Some of the laws adopted were later thrown out in court, such as penalizing voter registration drives. Rove Threatened GOP IT Guru If He Does Not 'Take the Fall' for Election Fraud in Ohio, Says Attorney Karl Rove has threatened a GOP high-tech guru and his wife, if he does not "'take the fall' for election fraud in Ohio," according to a letter sent this morning to Attorney General Michael Mukasey, by Ohio election attorney Cliff Arnebeck. See ... I told you there was a lot of news on the election fraud front ... remember ... it's up to you to get out and vote ... no matter who it is you plan to vote for ... don't let the Nazis win ... they want to suppress the vote ... don't make it easy for them! | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
