Bill Maher is on my watch list. He is a little full of himself, but has a common sense approach to life that I find refreshing. About the only place where we differ radically is the Illegal alien problem. His comments about how would we like to stand on the freeway off ramp and sell oranges was a little over the top. There is significant evidence they (illegals) are taking jobs Americans want and driving down wages.

yeah its definantly competition alot of them are really skilled, the thing is too there not thinking of how there taking our jobs, the only thing on there mind is get a job, plus the jobs they take are the ones not all but most would pass up

I couldn't disagree with this more. There are now no Jobs left for the American High school dropouts. All the low skill jobs have been taken by illegals and the wages for these "low" skilled jobs have been halved at least. Carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tile setters, concrete workers, framers, roofers, all the housing construction trade that used to make 15-30 bucks an Hr. Now make 8-12 an hr. with no benefits, while the price of houses continues to skyrocket. Who is making out in this scenario? Answer: the builders, realtors, lenders etc. all making money off the backs of illegals and refusing to pay fair wages for the trades. These builders know damn well they are illegal. Meanwhile, the poor American kid looking for a construction job is fucked. He is ousted from a job by virtue of his nationality. No housing construction boss will hire him, and even if they did, he'd be an outcast, as only spanish is voiced on the job. When I was a carpenter in the 60s-70s, Pay was around 17-20 bucks an hr with benefits, excellent health benifits, retirement and vacation pay. A livable wage for an American family. Adios 1 million++ construction jobs. That money has now dissapeared into Mexico

If I were raising a son today, I'd insist that he stay in school. I'd monitor his progress on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. School would be one of primary importance in my child/parent relationship. Failure would not be an option. He would be instilled with the idea that school doesn't end with completing the twelfth grade. A college degree would be standard procedure.

Now then, I'm sure there are those negative types out there, probably even some who post in this forum, who say that all the "good" jobs are taken by illegal workers. To counter that, my son would have taken Spanish as a second language in order to deal with all the non-English speaking people he would be hiring for his mega-million-dollar construction business.

haha yeah but not all people live in the same place, not all people have the same parents, there are some messed up kids and alot messed up parents who never shouldve known what sex was, whats crazy too about this pro life pro choice thing, is half our country would rather see abortion as an alternative, almost like oh your preganant? they have options, so what does that mean? more people just banging away.
the things they show on tv are depressing, almost incouraging divorce, and how ok and cool it is to be bi or whatever, we literaly have everybody banging everybody
