Default Enviro-church losing steam - what's the next cause?
it seems that the "consensus" assumed by the uninformed public and hurled on us by the retail media is not so concise... yet another well funded, intellectually steeped study has concluded that there is no evidence that we're facing any man-made "global warming". what will the enviro-church do now?

“The observed pattern of warming, comparing surface and atmospheric temperature trends, does not show the characteristic fingerprint associated with greenhouse warming. The inescapable conclusion is that the human contribution is not significant and that observed increases in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases make only a negligible contribution to climate warming," said lead author David H. Douglass.

Med, you seem to not understand that these are new studies!!!
You are referencing old studies which have been rendered inadequate!!!
Or simply bogus....

Evans, a mathematician who did carbon accounting for the Australian government, recently converted to a skeptical scientist about man-made global warming after reviewing the new scientific studies. (LINK)
"We now have quite a lot of evidence that carbon emissions definitely don't cause global warming. We have the missing [human] signature [in the atmosphere], we have the IPCC models being wrong and we have the lack of a temperature going up the last 5 years," Evans said in an interview with the Inhofe EPW Press Blog. Evans authored a November 28 2007 paper "Carbon Emissions Don't Cause Global Warming." (LINK)
Evans touted a new peer-reviewed study by a team of scientists appearing in the December 2007 issue of the International Journal of Climatology of the Royal Meteorological Society which found "Warming is naturally caused and shows no human influence." (LINK)

it would be funny if they got proof that all the vegi granola crunching hybrid drivers were hoopin and holarin about nothin. but in a sense that like say a bucket is being filled up by your fuacet, just cuz you drippin a couple drops in there too, doesnt mean that your the reason the bucket is filling up. so say the earth is warming on its own. ofcoarse we are helping it warm up with co2 and stuff, but what if what we do is just a drop in the bucket so to speak??? and nature is the one filling it up fast like a faucet.

on top of this, we have proof and old lines in the bucket showing it has been rapidly filled up like this before many times even when humans were not around. so you start to wonder?

its easy to believe that the coorporations would try to trick you and say global warming does not exist from human actions.

but why would someone try to trick you into thinking it exists because humans cause it? exactly! there would be no real good reason. so the people who are saying we are causing global warming probably really believe we are. there is nothing wrong with that. even if they are wrong.

no one really knows for sure. lets keep studing and try to be carful just incase, but let us not go overboard either and shutdown the world.

Evidence of dramatic effects of global warming apparent now

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska shows evidence of global warming.

IF YOU GO

Climate change is like a tipping canoe. It starts slowly and overturns suddenly in a violent upheaval. Despite the apocalyptic ring to this theory, in many ways the planet's arctic ecosystems have now reached that tipping point.
Packed ice along the Arctic Ocean and Bering Strait has retreated hundreds of miles and decreased in thickness more than 40 percent in the past 50 years. Native American villages are crumbling into the sea, and the biological heart of the Arctic that is home to populations of polar bears, caribou, migratory birds and other wildlife are caught in this dangerous recipe for disaster. Millions of acres of forests have died because of insect outbreaks caused by a warming climate, and are now burning. These troubling effects, when paired with the threat of further habitat destruction by oil and gas drilling, mean Alaska's wild places are doubly imperiled.
If we view the Arctic as any indication of the effect global warming will have on the rest of the world further south, acting on ways to limit our greenhouse gas emissions now is crucial. Unlike so many issues stymied by partisan squabbling, there is a consensus across party lines that something has to be done. Climate change is now getting more attention than ever. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has stated unequivocally that human activity is behind the phenomenon. The Nobel Prize has been given to those voices for inserting that dialogue into our national agenda. A 2004 Pentagon report found that climate change was a more serious threat than terrorism. As candidates square off over central issues to the American people for the 2008 nomination, one of the hottest topics of discussion revolve around climate change and energy alternatives. President George Bush even stated earlier this month, "Our guiding principal is clear. We must lead the world to produce fewer greenhouse gas emissions." With climate change placed so prominently on our national agenda as the creeping disaster we can't afford to ignore, the question is, what do we do about it?
Chad Kister, a prominent voice in climate change's impact on the Arctic will speak on those solutions during a presentation Wednesday at Binghamton University. Kister, an author and filmmaker, is touring the country speaking about his 700-mile trek through the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the effects of climate change, advocating against drilling for oil in Alaska and discussing practical solutions for stemming the tide of global warming.
Through a combination of energy conservation, policy change and scientific innovation a rapid movement away from fossil fuels toward renewable energy sources is possible -- if we start now.
At home, what may seem like small measures -- turning off lights, switching to energy-efficient bulbs, unplugging appliances when not in use, buying local products, driving fuel-efficient vehicles -- make a huge difference when combined with your neighbors' actions. Policy changes such as increasing the corporate average fuel economy to 39 mpg would save more than 100 times the oil that could ever come from the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Nationally, lawmakers need to offer more incentives to energy providers and consumers to use solar, wind and biomass. While the legacy of the Bush Administration's grim record on environmental protection speaks for itself, the rhetoric from the White House suggests there is an increased political willingness to take steps in a different direction.
Now is the time to confront climate change with viable solutions and focus on not leaving an environmental legacy of disaster for our children. This event is free and open to the public, thanks to the sponsorship of the Environmental Studies Program, the Binghamton University Scholars Program, the Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC) at Binghamton University, and the Susquehanna Group of the Sierra Club. People planning to attend are asked to refrain from bringing materials relating to other causes, in order that they not distract from the discussion.

Med, please provide a better link! All I get is a pic!!

How does your story account for this???

Sunday, December 09, 2007 Southern Hemisphere Ice Cover Remains Well Above Normal
By Alexandre Aguiar, MetSul Weather Center, Brazil

Southern Hemisphere’s ice cover now is at the same level as last June, i.e., a level seen during the last winter in the Southern Hemisphere. Besides, there are two more millions square kilometers of ice now compared to December 2006. And the large positive anomaly has persisted since September.

also
Icecap note: In the Northern Hemisphere, the ice and snow cover have recovered to within 1% (one snowstorm) of normal with the official start of winter still more than 12 days away

med, what about the Sun? since we have tackled the problem of predicting our weather for the next several years.... oh, wait! anyway, since we're experts on our weather is it ok to rule out the Sun? i mean, it is the source of all the heat in our atmosphere so maybe we need to go ahead and admit that we don't know jack shit... maybe.

Wow, the sun, really? I'll bet you thought I confused the sun with something else,~LOL~. Hey, so it's all the sun's fault. Our contribution doesn't mean jack shit, eh. So lets us all consume as fast as we can and just be happy because Jesus is coming back to save all you hypocrites. I'm sure Jesus would say, hey fuck conservation and polution, live it up and don't worry, the Rapture is about to commence and everyone else can just wipe their ass on the planet. Sounds like what all you hypocritical Christians are all about, yourselves. My personal view of Christianity, I know you "Christians" don't care, But, My view is: a good christian should act like christ, not preach and act like an asshole, JMHO.

The radical environmental movement is all about wealth redistribution. Where did all the communists go when the Berlin Wall and the Soviet Union's government buildings came crumbling down? They are plying their evil trade in and among the environmental movement. Read the brochures from the Green Party, then compare what they say with what is said here: CPUSA Online -
