*note* first posted in toke n' talk, wrong forum, sorry
So I was just looking at the New York Times online and I saw a video piece about kurdish rebels and attacks on iran. As an intro it states that the Bush admin. denies any involvment or support of these attacks. Then the video report piles loads of evidence against the white house statments, including a nice sound bite interview w/ a vary "impressive" example of a kurdish rebel who reaffirms that the u.s. is involved. My first reaction was this is a load of crap, the way the report was put together made me think it was just biased against the u.s. I decided to find out more about these Kurdish people and promptly logged on to wikipedia......when I got to the population section this is what I found: "The exact number of Kurdish people living in the Middle East is unknown, due to both an absence of recent census analysis and the reluctance of the various governments in Kurdish-inhabited regions to give accurate figures." Not so surprising, but then I saw this: "According to the CIA Factbook, Kurds comprise 20% of the population in Turkey, 15-20% in Iraq, perhaps 8% in Syria, 7% Iran in and 1.3% in Armenia. In all of these countries except Iran, Kurds form the second largest ethnic group. Roughly 55% of the world's Kurds live in Turkey, about 20% each in Iran and Iraq, and a bit over 5% in Syria.. These estimates place the total number of Kurds at somewhere between 27 and 36 million." Why is wikipedia using estimates from the CIA factbook? I got a better question, if wiki is using it does that mean they are the only people estimating the KURDISH population? Why is the CIA estimating the population of a people who want to form their own state that would take parts of turkey, iran, and iraq? here's a link Kurdish people - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |

CIA Factbooks are the standard for foreign country political and economic information. They have the resources to obtain the most information so naturally Wikipedia or any information outlet is going to use their information. Everything the CIA does isnt shadey. There are CIA factbooks on every country in the world that get updated on a regular basis. They show everything from terrain, wildlife, religious groups, history, well everything about the country in question.

We need a factbook on the CIA. The largest stirrer in this pot called earth. They stir shit all over the globe to put the US in an advantageous position. They are the corporation spies that bring the US police to bear if anyone gets out of line. The CIA is one of the most evil entities on the planet. It has murdered more leaders and wannabee leaders than any other government agency in the world, including the KBG. There are enough evil stories to keep the movie business going for a thousand years, and guess what? You pay their wages. All you patriotic dolts that still believe the US history books need to take a few trips accross the globe and get a real perspective of the Good old USA. There are reasons why we are the most feared and hated country on earth. But guess what, not for long. This country is going the way of all other world leaders, down the shitter. We are so far in debt that there are no solutions outside of taxing the rich, and you know that isn't going to happen, so sit back and enjoy the ride while your job gets outsourced, and illegals take over your neighborhood, say Bon Voyage to the good old days, and Buenas Dias to your nieghbors.

Wikpida isn't the greatest of resource. Universities have ban it's use because anyone can edit it and put whatever they want in it. I've seen a lot of complains about it so I would take a grain of salt with any information from there ...
... The illegitimate bush regime has shown it will do anything to have a perpetual war.

Let's see 12345678910, oh and I forgot 10987654321, I may have left out a few. Hey just go to Mexico and watch Mexican CNN for a different perspective and they are one of our staunchest allies. I haven't been to Russia, but I'll bet the news is a little different over there. Check out Al-Jazeera. Every country has an agenda and their news is tainted, just remember, ours is tainted also, especially FOX.
