Default Is Iraq worth it?
We as Americans were all sold the proposition of war in Iraq to dismantle the "WMD's" that were causing havoc in The region.... The Bush Administration pushed it, Congress voted on it and passed it....

Was it worth it to remove the WMD's from Iraq......

I'd like to hear your thoughts?

If one considers Saddam to be a Weapon of Mass Distruction, then yes, our causing havoc in the region was worth the effort. A couple of hundred thousand Kurds in the region would agree, I think.

Hey, have you been asleep for the past 5 years? There were no WMDs, The whole thing was a scam to allow corporations to profit from an unholy war based on lies. Someone should tell all the mothers that lost their sons and daughters that they died for profit, the almighty profit extracted for over 100,000 lives. The government, especially the present one, has no conscience!

I can't believe that otherwise intelligent people say that the administration "lied" about WMD. Not only did the Bush administration think there was WMD in Iraq, but so did the UN, our entire Senate and House, Bill Clinton, and practically everyone who voiced an opinion on the subject before the invasion... including Saddam himself, who threatened to use WMD if we invaded.

You could even make the case that plenty of WMD has indeed been pulled out of Iraq.

Don't get me wrong- I do not think that invading Iraq turned out to be a smart thing to do, at least in the manner in which it was executed. But the war was not the product of some evil marriage between corporations and the government; it was a strategic mistake made by a group of people who honestly believed it was the right approach at the time. Turns out they were wrong.

Looks like they pulled the wool over your eyes dank. I guess you'd have to have seen more of political life to be as cynical as me, I've seen plenty of lying, cheating and outright criminal behavior by our leaders. If they were to be tried in a world court, the present administration would all be in for the death penalty!

This war and the previous war has been all about oil.
The goverment of the USA cares nothing about WMD hell look at north korea they detonated one yet we stand still come the fuck on people get a clue Iraq has oil North Korea does not. This country has been all about oil ever since the engine was developed yet new technologys are in place to have a safer fuel yet our country as well as the Britts continue to invade countries under false pretenses of an imminate threat. Do you feel safer now that saddam is out of power? I know I don't! Saddam kept order and was able to control the Iraqi's with death and I see everyday that is exactly what it takes in Iraq to have peace, yet our goverment (the real terrorists) invade at our expense with unjust causes. Our goverment the U.N , The Britts all need to be tried for war crimes just like saddam as they are killing innocent people at a rate far worse than saddam has ever achieved. When the US wakes the fuck up and stop trying to invade everyones lives then the world will be safer untill then I support a revolt and true freedom in the name of peace. Ainti Goverment is the new future and soon the citizens of the US will be pinched by the goverment to the point we will revolt and a war unlike any other will errupt here in the USA. It may not be in my life time but at the current rate of new laws ever restricting peoples freedoms, mark my words it will come!!!

Are you seriously asserting that Saddam did not threaten to use WMD, and that the world did not believe he had them?

The problem with all of the above is that Saddam was selling wolf tickets.
Saddam was nothing more than a minor irritation, his country was on the verge of bankruptcy and once his army started to go hungry he would have suffered the same fate of Anwar Sadat did in 1981.

So no I say the Iraq war is not worth it.
