Default not a conspiracy thoerist, but some thoughts
ok lets assume that post WW2:

our leaders could see the 2 million soldiers that came back (remember the staggered rotation (hah well i mean remember reading about it) and how it took so long to get ur troops home? there wasnt enough room or resources, so the US then looked at the growth rate and our infrastructure and saw it was unsustainable ( i believe the global number we came up with of sustainable human population was ballpark 2 billion, cant quote the source tho).......so what happened?

1. we built the hell out of our military
2. radically promoted a "democratic" world policy....ya ya i know
3. cannibalized our infrastructure (think about it....where the fuk did all
our products go? economics 101-u have to create shit. instead we churned and burned and now are at the end of our economic rope, timing anyone?
4 and most importantly imo they did the math, 50ish years and "3rd world countries would begin developing nuclear tech.

mmmmmkay, whats going on today might you ask???

1. Iran, N Korea are imminent nuclear threats (others are as well, but not as clear cut--lets not even get into Russia's missing nukes)
2. at current fishing rates the oceans will be dry in 50ish years
3. superbugs baby! yes thats right, the friends your parents and grandparents shared their homes with are moving in with you too! polio, smallpox, the POSSIBILITY of birdflu going human to human vector alone could decimate the population and send us into thunderdome (heh)
4. HIV WILL be in how many people? come on now take a guess? 1 in 10? 1 in 5? nope....by 2050 hiv will be in count em, 1 in 4 people globally.
5. global warming is no longer an unknown. any of you still confused
about scientists and their consensus regarding the true threat of global warming google something called global dimming. that's what had all the "scientists" confused......grrrrrr.
6. the antichrist is here, i can prove it........i will introduce you to my mother in law.

****side note- we developed the largest military in the world and are the only people to have dropped a nuke in anger. if you look into it you will see the japs (sorry just staying true to the era) KNEW we had broken their code and said KNOWING WE WOULD HEAR IT that if we would leave their emporer intact they would surrender. ask urself, why drop a nuke in anger? many reasons we did, the splittting up of german lands, to scare the russians, and yes to let the world know we were crazy enough to leave shadow size representations of what were people all over a city. untested weapon and all that jazz they say on the war flicks.

so what's this mean?

well you can take from it what you will. either go dr. malcolm from jurassic park and call it all chaotic coincidence or you can say THE MOTHERFUCKERS KNEW IT WAS COMING. im not even getting into the devaluation of the dollar, the fact that the number one way to stave off depression is war (think way way bak, remember something about that country being dangerous and we needed to go to save our economy errrr i mean our asses). so consider for a minute. unsustainable growth rate, 50 things coming to stave off the population that we cant do shit about, upcoming world distress and very very likely global war. ok global war...sounds apocolyptic, but do you see food shortages, rogue countries with nukes, incurable diseases......ITS MASS HYSTERIA......lol ok now im kidding...sigh.

-really tho, think they knew? ok and heres the really fucked up thing. if they did know and orchestrated our society to prepare for it without telling anyone is that a democracy? i sure dont remember voting.

---sorry been thinking along these lines recently, had to vomit some of it out.

and yet some nut bag is going to come on and tell us how the republican party is going to save us from how the government has fucked this country up. Like they haven't done enough to fuck this country up.
But since the Bush Administration is in the pockets of the corporations, I think that they are working toward making a slave class.
Feudalism anyone?

its funny u say that about a working class and a ruling one. the wife and i were just talking about buying shit at stores for 100% more then if we order the things online and how it was just going to widen the gap between classes further.

and ya the shit they tell us is a fucking joke. all those candidates stand up there and belch out their answers like so many beauty contestents...."ummm like i believe in world peace and the fact i can watch your boner grow the more i giggle...tee hee".

im no communist...let me say that again...ima nota communista. but i have always thought platos idea of a philosopher king was a good one. a special caste of people raised to be civil servants, educated strongly in the humanities and whos only purpose is to serve their people. now it goes both ways on that; absolute power corrupts absolutely, or maybe given the right circumstances a person or people could be raised to be truly altruistic and compassionate...id like to think so. dont get me wrong i like our system, but its only as good as the people manipulating it let it be.

we fucked up by becoming an industrialized nation, with specialty classes that perform tasks that most of us aren't capable of. hence, we are now totally dependent on everyone around us for our survival for the most part. segregated classes lead to the collection of wealth which through the inherent greed in man creates suppression. suppression is held in place by fear and ignorance, and enlightenment is terminated with aggression. the moment you give away your willingness to make decisions for yourself and cede that power to others in a different class of society, you should expect nothing less than what has occurred. the root problem here is capitalism. it has driven a wedge between the supposed classes in our country. the only reason we were able to succeed the way we did economically after WWII was because we had established a broad middle class which was experiencing a new level of collective affluence which had never before been witnessed. the problem today is that special interest groups have purchased the government and are slowly legislating the middle class out of existence. it is a proven fact that the gap between rich and poor in this country alone is increasing at an unprecedented rate. soon, the middle class will cease to exist entirely, which will result in the ultimate downfall of this country as it exists today.

And the advantage to the ruling elites in eliminating the middle class is what? I mean, if we are being ruled by corporations that produce things for consumption, and the middle class is eliminated, who will be the customers?

You mean YOU haven't figured it out?

You guys rail against jobs being moved off shore, and you continue to rail against the "evil" corporations. Has it ever occured to you guys that the United States has the second highest corporate tax rates on the friggin' planet ... second only to Japan? Is it any wonder that corporations move off shore? Money is like water ... it follows the path of least resistance. If you want jobs to stay in this country, then make it more profitable for the corporations to stay here. This can be done by lowering the tax rates, eliminating capital gains taxes, reducing regulations and getting the government the hell out of the way of progress.

Not a chance. I'll vote against every one of those propositions. you are a plutocrat. I'd vote for more taxes, penalties for shipping jobs, and import taxes on foriegn made goods. Making corporations that sell goods here, make them here with Citizens, not illegals. Complete extradition of corporations that cheat by moving to offshore addresses ,like Haliburton. All government contracts to be filled by in country contractors that hire Americans and pay prevailing wages, with huge penalties for infractions. The list goes on. Let the assholes leave if they don't want to hire American workers, but never let them sell one Item in the USA. In fact, I'd even chip in to help you leave with your cockamamie ideas.

Brilliant, Med. You must relish the thought of paying $200 for a pair of shorts and $20 dollars for a box of cereal.
