What's up everyone?

I'm new to this forum - I like it so far, but the main reason why I've come here is to ask some questions.

NC House Bill 1383, coupled with 1383, are pieces of medical marijuana legislation introduced last April for North Carolina.

When initially introduced, these bills gained a lot of attention - at least as much as this state seems capable of attaining - but shortly thereafter discussion deadened. As of right now, I can't find anyone who can give me a straight answer as to what is happening with these two bills.

I live in the Western North Carolina area, and even in the small town I take up residence in there are a lot of sick people who could sincerely benefit from this kind of legislation. Plus, let's all be honest here, one more state to join the ranks certainly wouldnt hurt our cause, which I'm hoping is still national freedom. Maybe I'm being a square when I say that I believe the government shouldn't have control over what we do to our own bodies. Whatever.

I simply want to know if there's anyone out there who has any idea of what's going on with these bills. Are people voting? Why isn't that in the news headlines? Does this thing even still have a pulse?

True, the bible belt would be the very last of the states to do anything about marijuana.

Maybe North Carolina has a chance. Doubt it though

I don't think the south is against weed because of god, the bible say nothing of smoking weed. It's all about ignorance, most people don't know that weed is nowhere near as bad for you as alcohol or tobacco.
