that's what makes me respect him so much!

he has had plenty of chances to kick people when they're down, call them on inconsistencies but he always goes forward!! never giving time to the negativity.

I too respect his way of debating, and in most areas, I agree with his policies. It's the privatization of all government services where I have a problem with him. History has shown the private sector is interested in only the bottom line and not the quality of services. Example: the private medical system. Profit comes before health care. That's just wrong in every way. HMOs making medical decisions that affect the status of your health instead of Doctors, insane. Doctors having to call an HMO decider to see if you can be treated (And their job is to deny as many claims as possible) Before treatment or lack of, is just plain wrong. There are certain jobs best suited to a government body, and health care is one, no profit. I agree with 90% of his policies though and knowing he'd be lucky to get 10% of his agenda passed, I might vote for him if he prioratized: 1. stopping the fucking insane Iraq war.
2. stopping the war on drugs and initializing treatment centers for the addicts.
3. getting rid of all secret government projects and departments.
4.bring the precepts of the constritution back into play.
5.Repeal all the insane Bush anti constitutional signing statements.
6. make a serious effort to curb foriegn aid and restore fiscal responsibility to government.
7. Realized that getting rid of all government social programs is not feasable.
8.Got rid of the FED and went to a government based monetary system, wiping the national debt off, and causing those bankers to go belly up.
9.Stopped all trade with China.
10. Closed the borders and deported all illegals.
There are plenty more demands I'd like to see met by this trail Blazer, But his total privatization is not workable for me.

i think Ron Paul is for oversight, that's what the constitution calls for. what we have to stop doing is getting the government involved in the "solution" because they always, always make a mess of it. the government used to be a good tool to provide objective feedback and guidance but they have gone waaaaay out of bounds. they start off with the talking, write some laws, write some laws to fix those laws, before you know it you have to hire teams of lawyers to tell you what you can and can't do and then the home business owner has to let go, the government inherits yet another business that costs more and does less, providing an inferior product. look at government schools, look at the space program, look at anything they run or heavily influence.

i honestly think, med, with the right guidance our health care system can provide new options and more accessibility WITHOUT the government taking over and without cutting corners on the quality of care. it's worked before and we just need to get the scavangers out of the way, that would include corrupt business men and the greedy lawyers. health is what doctors are all about, let them do what they do best.

Ron Paul wouldn't recklessly pull the plug on everything at once, he's consistent on that too. government strongholds (SS, Intel, Depts., etc.) have to be carefully disassembled, corrected and replaced with superior systems. if that means private, great. if not, great. but it has to be fixed from the top down! he's the only one with the balls to confront the issues and you should vote for him if anything on that list is really what you want to see done.

Depends on how it shapes up. I'm not throwing my vote away and letting some Bush clone Republican steal the election (Juliani, McCain Etc,). I'm a registered independent so I can vote either way. I'm not sure they'll let me vote in the primaries though as I could vote for either party and potentially screw up someone in the party I disliked, I don't remember if they did last time or not.

if he gets the nomination there won't be any neo-cons in the race. he will represent the republican party and every American who wants a change.

just got this a little while ago. you can sign up on the campaign website.

September 7, 2007

Has this been a hectic and encouraging time! First we got almost 17% in
the Texas straw poll, an event set-up to represent the establishment,
with very restrictive voting rules. That 17% of the Republican
hierarchy would support our views, after a full day of pro-war propaganda, is
good news. Then we won the more open Maryland Republican straw poll with
28%. In both cases, as usual, hard-working, well-organized volunteers
made all the difference.

The Fox debate was a lot of fun as well. It's true that a few of the
network people are not exactly with us on foreign or domestic policy
(though one famous guy whispered to me that he is a libertarian), but the
audience-with lots of students from the University of New Hampshire-was
definitely fair and balanced, as their enthusiastic reaction showed.

My opponents called for more war, more torture, more secret prisons,
more eavesdropping, more presidential power. Some seemed to identify the
government and the people as if they were one entity. But you and I
know that once the government moves beyond its very limited constitutional
mandate, it is an opponent of the people, a rip-off operation that
takes our money and our freedom and our social peace, and gives us a mess
of statist pottage in return.

The government failed miserably on 911 to protect us, despite spending
trillions. So the answer was supposed to be the giant, socialist
Department of Homeland Security, protecting you and me from taking our
toothpaste on the airplane. I was ridiculed for saying that the airlines,
which know best how to protect their property, should have been allowed to
arm their pilots. But then, you and I really believe in the Second
Amendment. It is not just a political slogan for us.

When I discussed the blowback that came from us intervening on the
Arabian peninsula, Chris Wallace asked me if I wanted to follow the
marching orders of al-Qaeda. I responded that I wanted to follow the marching
orders of the Constitution, and not wage undeclared, aggressive wars
that cause us only trouble. This is a mystifying to some, of course, but
not to more and more Americans.

There was much talk of taxes, and a pledge not to raise rates. But as
usual, I was not allowed to discuss my lifelong pledge to abolish the
income tax. Just holding the line, when the government takes such vast
sums through an illegitimate guilty-until-proven-innocent system, is
hardly enough. We need to slash taxes and spending if we are to have a
future of prosperity for ourselves and our families.

After the debate, many young people gathered around the stage to
discuss our ideas and ask questions about them (and to have me sign their
badges). My colleagues got no such response, and after a few moments,
"security" ordered me off the stage. Can't have any such demonstration of
interest in liberty.

But the young are with us, and so are Americans of every stripe. Even
party officials. When one of my opponent said it was OK to lose
elections through supporting the Iraq war, that set party people's teeth on
edge, and rightly so. The Republican party is shrinking. We need new
people. It's either our ideas or President Hillary, and more and more people
recognize it.

But the media, and everyone else, will be looking at fundraising totals
at the end of this month. They'll judge us by how we do. And we need
help to wage what we hope will be a full-scale, 50-state campaign.
Please help me head into the next quarter fully armed to do battle for
freedom, peace and prosperity. Make your most generous contribution
https://www.ronpaul2008.com/donate/. This Revolution is on the move,
but it very much needs your support.

Sincerely,

Ron

If it comes down to Paul or Hillary, Paul gets my vote. If it comes down to Paul and Obama or edwards, I might have to think long and hard as Paul would not be for singlepayer medical and that is a real problem I have with him. The candidate that revises the medical system to include every citizen (not illegals) in on "free" medical, (I realize you have to pay with taxes), gets my vote.

well, i hope you'll really think about that. voting for who gives out the biggest and best goody bag isn't always the right thing to do. it might solve some immediate problems but the consequences given to the next generation are important.

we have a nation of unhealthy slugs who smoke, drink, fuck and TV themselves into diabetes, heart disease, obesity, AIDS and a whole list of other ailments that are completely preventable. it's absolute theft to make me pay for someone else's decisions about their health and if it comes to that i will refuse to pay one cent of my taxes any longer; you will be able to contact me at the Brown's residence!

the system we have is not broken. you said you are a mechanic so what do you do with a clogged up intake? what do you do with a worn out belt? what do you do with a burned out headlight? you sure don't replace the whole car! time to roll our sleeves up and get to work.

That is your take on universal health care, not mine. I don't believe ones health care should be labeled a goody bag. If you are so intent on not paying "unjust" taxes, why don't you stop paying them over funding the war? Sometimes you just don't make sense. You'd rather pay for an insane war than your poor neighbors healthcare, go figure that. What did a poor person do to you to make you so hateful towards them, fuck your wife, rape your daughter, steal your car. Hey maybe there are some lazy assholes out there, but as a "citizen of this, the wealthiest nation on the planet, I believe every citizen should be afforded tax funded health care. I guess this is an issue we'll not agree on.

the troops didn't set this whole scenario in motion. if someone packs down an extra krispy kream, that's another story!

people are voluntarily wrecking their own health, it's not my responsibility to pay for it any more than it's my responsibility to overthrow dictators i don't like!

that's what you call consistency.
