Default Enough of the partisanship.
We need to come together. It's the constant bickering between parties that is getting this country nowhere. Pull your head out of your ass and realize that their is corruption in both parties.

If both parties can't find at least one thing to agree, that is that both parties in Washington are corrupt, than I don't know what we will ever agree on.

Pull your head out of your ass. Communication is the quickest way to solution between two people, and is definitely the quickest way to solution between a divided nation.

I am so damn sick of people taking so much pride in their party. Like it fucking matters in the real world. All that matters are the issues.

Agreed. Problem is, too many people NEED their respective parties to shrink the huge sum of political ideas and issues into a smaller mass concievable/understandable to their pea-sized brains in order to make sense of things. It's truly sad, and the crutch of democracy.

As a Rep I know my party has issues. just less then then Dem's. If we had all just voted for Ron paul. We would still be screwed but with less fed laws.

Political parties are for politicians. What's funny is that these guys bash each other all day then go hang out for drinks or golf together. They have successfully pulled the wool over our eyes, and divided us into two arbitrary groups because we think we're following their lead (standing firm against the "other guy" even when he has good ideas, too!), when reality we are being herded like sheep.

Politics is a show. Like an outrageous broadway musical without the costumes (unless you count a 3-pc. suit). It's designed to keep us busy fighting against one another while the government sells our freedom to big businesses.

I've been giving this a lot of thought lately. Here's the deal:

The Democrats will be thrown out on their collective (no pun intended) ears in the 2010 elections. This means the Republicans will be back in power again. If the Republicans return to business as usual, they will also see massive demonstrations in the streets. There has to be a group of Republicans, like Ron Paul, who understand the liberty issue, and will sacrifice for the country instead of lobby money.

Obama, if he doesn't move to the middle, will be out of office in 2012. This means a Republican will have to stand on principle during the election campaign. I'm thinking that that person will have to have a platform of dismantling the federal government. His/Her platform should include, abolishing the Department of Education, Energy and turning the Pentagon into a Triangle. The platform should also include abolishing the IRS and the federal income tax, including corporate taxes, death taxes and capital gains taxes. Included should be a promise of reducing the federal bureaucracy by a certain number ... say a million people, or so. Also included in the platform would be a return to honest money, backed by precious metals.

Personally, I think the politicians in both parties have ONE more chance of getting it right before a real revolt takes place. Getting it right means ... a smaller, less intrusive federal government; one that exists to protect the rights of the minority and to protect the nation from foreign attacks. In other words, to get it right, the new regime will have to abide by the Constitution AS WRITTEN.

Any thoughts?

I think you're spot on, but I just hope we make it past 2012.

Iran's very close to getting nuclear weapons and I am predicting that if they do they will nuke israel and/or give nukes to Al'Qaeda to use against us.

though there are certainly quite a few folks out there who blindly follow their party, there is also a major divide between two distinct groups that see the future of our society in completely opposing ways. there is the socialistically inclined camp, quite adequately represented by the democratic party at the moment, and the more capitalistically oriented camp, many of whom cling to the hope that the republican party will return to its roots and truly represent their conservative values. these two groups will never be able to come to any meaningful agreement.

the divide between left and right (for want of better terms) is far more important than the shifting symbolism of political parties. they represent basic ideologies that are far more important than the day to day issues. they represent a choice between the supremacy of the liberty of the individual on one hand and the immediate needs of the masses on the other.

I for one do NOT want them getting along at all.
I want every damn bill to be a fight, tooth and claw.
We have quite enouph laws already thank you very much.

Vi, your pretty spot on IMO.
If Iran gets a nuke is it the end of the world?
Let them nuke Isreal it will be the last time Farsee is spoken aloud.
Historians will have to buy 'Rosetta Stone' to know what their language sounded like.

Why do you think Iran even wants a Nuke?
Because, the only countries we seem to respect are nuke armed.
The only countries we treat as sovreign are nuke armed.
If I was running a country I would persue a nuke as well it only makes sence.

End the welfare/warfare state, End the FED!
