I guess you could say that, after all Nixon was a Republican and is credited with really starting the war on drugs, then there is Reagan, who perpetuated it with the just say no campaign. Now you have Obama, who said he was not going to prosecute or go after the MJ smoker. But its business as usual ( BIG business) making all those crazy pot smokers go to prison for their victimless crime. Oh wait, Obama is not a republican!

Go look up Nixon and The Shafer Commission and see how this whole war on weed started, then look up Reagan and Bush's stance on marijuana and see how much money they pumped into going after pot smokers (you'll be shocked). While you're at it learn about Reagan and mandatory minimum sentencing and forfeiture laws.

Kennedy didn't have the hindsight we do today of the wreckage that the "great society" wreaked on this country. Now we know better....

Yeah, Nixon was a liar and a scumbag... not really breaking news. However, he did commission a study on the danger of marijuana to help further his agenda of eradicating it. When the results came back and disproved all of the negative effects they had been touting, he simply shitcanned it.

Reagan and the religious right were just as disingenuous on marijuana and certainly stepped the war on drugs up a few notches.

Carter flat out caved for his political survival. Exactly what we are seeing with Obama.

So basically, we end up with religious nuts trying to strike down our beloved plant, or we get liberals who won't jeopardize the rest of their agenda or their political future to end this farce.
