so today I suggested to a group that perhaps we could come up with a way that a barter system in America could work... I was immediately attacked. and I am saying like TODAY, from now on, with all our possessions, all we can do is barter. it would be difficult and so on but point is I was trying to get the ball rolling on how the world could find a different method than using money. tell me what yall think. (and when exactly is this section going to be closed?) feel free to let this thread die if need be.

Unfortunately, wages will not even come close to keeping up with rising prices. So you will make the same money...owe the same debt...and have to pay more for what you have to buy. So, inflation will make it harder for you to pay your debt.

In my opinion the only way to truly remove paper money from your day to day life is to begin producing EVERYTHING you need or just produce some of what you need & network with others in your area to get things you are unable to produce from them in exchange for things you can produce. It's hard work living free & independent, but it is possible. Even with this system you will still have to obtain land somehow which will be difficult when you consider the U.S. government has pretty much laid claim to all land.

I'm not sure you understand my point. and if you've got a chip in your arm it's (to me) the same as cash. and that's what I want to get rid of. I just want the 'currency' whatever it may be, to be worth something. it's not worth gold, or anything right now.... so why are we trading paper. (it's a note saying you did so much which means you can get ___ . I know let's skip that explination)
