Question Violence now a days
Just one reason i think violence is more prevalent is that generation after generation we are making are kids into p*ssies. No more monkey bars or old school playgrounds because god forbid a kid falls and hurts themselves. Kids for example wearing more safety equipment when there out doing activities so they dont feel pain. Sure safety equipment is good, but a kid needs to understand pain or there going to do really stupid stuff and feel invincible because they dont hurt themselves. Fast forward when the same kid is an young adult and they start having problems with other people. When it escalates there so afraid of getting hurt by being punched in the face or where ever, they automatically pull out a knife or gun. Or call in back up to resolve the situation.

What are some other reasons you can think of?

I have to blame the television, video games, and child neglect.

Id say that too but more child neglect. If there were some sort of responsible supervision doesnt always have to be a parent, to make sure the werent watching violent programs or playing video games 10 hours a day. Tv and video games are a result of child neglect. These mediums cant raise kids.

i can't see how being raised a sissy turns one criminally violent.

*edit* i think such tendencies occur from deeper and darker psychological trauma/disorder than just being a pussy.

No monkey bars? Where do YOU live? I've got kids and just about every playground around has monkey bars. You should see some of the "safer" equipment close up, because it's still pretty dangerous. Now they just chuck a bunch of rubber chips underneath it all so at least you aren't landing on the asphalt if you fall, lol.

I don't think that violence has anything to do with television, video games, or safety equipment (btw, I knew a kid who DIED in 4th grade because he wrecked his bicycle into a tree and wasn't wearing a helmet). I think it has more to do with parental influence than anything else. If a child learns that the best way to deal with his/her anger is through violence, that's how they're going to respond (until someone teaches them differently, anyway). How do children learn? Well, by observing their parents, of course! So if Dad hits you when he's mad, you learn that hitting people when you're mad is ok, even though it isn't.

Behaviors are learned through direct observation of role models. When those role models are displaying inappropriate behavior, then a child learns to behave inappropriately.

Hey, don't get me wrong. TV and video games are very entertaining, but it's not safe for kids with undeveloped minds. Just my opinion.

They can shape childrens' personality and thought through out the years and years of watching the brightly flashing, glowing screen of wonderful things.

I think thats what the governments WANT you to think about videogames. They are sponsoring many war games to help better train future soldiers for the war in Iran.
