I say, Fuck them. They should have re-valued their currency a long time ago so they would be fair players on the world market. Had they revalued, the chinese crap would not be so cheap and there would be less incentive for corporations to move there. So Fuck them, I hope their economy goes in the dumper along with those ruthless Corporations that went for the cheap labor and products.

you don't have to say fuck them, just raise the tariffs until the trade gap is a little more closed and impose regulations on them....

Seems to me that this whole thing is an example of the virtue and superiority of a freer market....competition exists which may well capitalize on the shoddy goods produced by the Chicoms.....the Chinese are obviously not acquainted with the transparency of a freer competitive marketplace.
Having to compete in a global market arena is a bitch compared to a closed and directed marketplace..... (within which, they may have never been exposed!)
Let them suffer the markets consequences!

Please explain your logic Vi.
It's not like the Chinese can't afford it since they are burying us. Unless they drop their Tariffs (their's is quite high and gives the Chinese an unfair advantage in the market place) then we need to increase theirs until the trade gap has narrowed a bit.
The Lack of regulation is why they keep sending the US substandard garbage.
Your Logic is narrow minded and outdated.

My solution would be the same as I said during government's bailout of Chrysler during Lee Iococca (sp) reign ... Just build a better car.

The market is self-regulating. If Americans percieve China as building inferior products and dangerous products, the products will fall out of favor among the American consumer. This opens up a huge opportunity gap for some enterprizing capitalistic-thinking individule here in America to fill.
