I see the fighting going on here between people in a myriad of threads. I see folks who should be bound together by their love of the green, and by their contempt for the hypocritical anti-marijuana laws.People who should be fruserated that the government ( both Republicans AND democrats ) continues to harrass medical patients using Nazi-like tactics.A federal government that was created to make our Republic ( Yes we are a Republic , not a Democracy- just like the former Soviet Union..) a little more streamlined and oversee just a few basic things has now grown to monster preportions and has grabbed power that dose not belong to it. We have politicians at every level who are completely corrupt and morally bankrupt.These are Republicans. These are Democrats.These are occasionally even third-party folks.

We live in a world where our government is literally out of control and becomming very dangerous to freedoms and liberties.This assault on our freedom comes from both sides, and in many ways.It is not just the Republicans.It is not just the Democrats.They are just puppets now for the entities that REALLY run this country now- Big Pharma, Big Oil, etc. . It dosen't matter if you vote for one side or the other. You are looking at 2 different crime families. Do you want your money to be wasted and stolen by this group? Or that group ? Now of course there are some minor differences in the tactics used by the two crime families to get them elected to be in charge of stealing your money.One family may throw loose change at the poor, while the other group might try to save their wealthier constituancy a few coins here and there.But the truth is, our government has been increasingly corrupt over the last 200+ years...our Constitution has been ammended and distorted by politicians who tell us that " Our founding fathers didn't quite understand what they were doing ".Our Bill of Rights is slighted and circumvented repeatedly by politicians who tell us " it is for our safety " . We have bills being voted on by poloticians who dont't even read them in full for God's sake.The U.S. now lives under a corporate government that is really run by a handful of wealthy persons in the world. A government where to raise in the ranks you must " play ball " with the forces of evil ( literally ).

In this country , you cannot become president unless you are a terrible human being.End of story.It is not possible to get elected without billions of dollars provided by evli corporations , and a love for stepping on heads and telling lies. The election and campaign practices in this country are so terribly corrupt and broken that it's not even funny.The electoral college needs to go.Now. When the majority of the population votes for someone, that person should win.Enough already.Sweeping campaign and lobby reforms are needed urgently- stop big money from buying votes that are good for them and bad for us.Stop greedy and evil groups like the Pharma industry from buying votes that will keep medical marijuana from gaining any ground so that they can have you taking dangerous, unnatural pills 20 times a day.Drugs where the side affects are often just as bad or worse than the condition they suppossedly treat. The pharma industry that creates new conditions on a weekly basis in an attempt to make even more people think they need another pill to take...." Sorry for rambling, but in the end our country is in trouble and she needs our help.Our government needs to be completely overhauled and re-tooled.Protest now for campaign reform, Lobby reform , election reform to create a level playing field , demand to know the truth. About everything. Stop being kept busy with bipartisan politics.They are just a diversion in the long run.People spend so much energy arguing Republican versus Democrat.It's exactly what they want.Start working together to change the things described above, as they are the most important.

Stop bickering over which crime family is slightly less corrupt....

Seriously, i agree with everything you've said here. But the problem is the words are just a rant. STATING the problem, which many, many people before have done, even those vying for political office, SOLVES absolutely nothing.

In truth, to solve ALL those problems would mean a true revolution, and I don't think that’s necessary. Assuming you could mobilize the majority of the public to action, bringing a major upheaval like that would mean reducing this country to ashes. There would be riots and looting and productivity would halt and worldwide the effects would be felt.

Now ask yourself, do you really think the rich and powerful ruling class of this country would allow it to happen? Hell no! Not even close! They would mobilize the army and squash their own citizens, as an example to the others. Look at Waco, Texas, please. So, all out revolution is not the answer.

What is? Well, the honest minded people of this nation have looking for a true, fair, just, charismatic, untouchable and highly intelligent (please) leader for some time. Someone whose ideas make so much good sense, and are spoken in such an undeniably clear way, that they cannot be rebutted.

A strong, untouchable leader is absolutely essential to the movement because even a throng of ordinary men means absolutely nothing to this government. Look at what Dubya just did in making protests of the war in Iraq illegal. What kind of bullshit, fascism ideology is this. He is the most illegal, un-American ruler in a long time, and American voted and re-voted him in.

I just hope when this leader arrives, the silent rulers of this country don’t off him before his message is heard.

I hate to be a cynic, but wake up. The ruling class will never give up power. An electable person such as you describe does not exist. they can never get to that level of prominance without the backing of the ruling class. It would take a military coupe to change leadership to that level and the ruling class takes real good care of their generals. This country is bought and paid for and we will be hard pressed to hold on to the little freedom we have left. You have people like, well I won't say, on this site that buy into the mindwash and can't see the writing on the wall. As long as you have enough people believing the government, change will never happen. I guess for some people it is easier to let others do their thinking for them.
