The arguments made by the woman you are mentioning are stupid. Even if it is true that 60% of every dollar (60¢/$1) is spent on treatment, then legalization solves that problem, as there would no longer be any reason to pay for treatment. So not only would legalization likely result in tax revenues, but it would also likely result in cost cuts as well, saving the states additional money even as revenue increases. If it is legal, then people that use it will no longer have to go through the court system. If it is legal people that use it will no longer have to be treated for using it.

I was watching C-Span last night they were talking about health care.
Making it manditory to buy health care.
They said Mandates from government don't work.(!)
They said 15% of Americans don't pay taxes.
They said 15% of drivers don't have insurrance where its manditory.
I would say about 15% smoke pot at least from time to time.
Government mandates just don't work.
Spending money hand over fist ain't gonna change that.

They said there are 2 states you don't have to have insurance to drive.
In those states insurance coverage rates are higher then in states that mandate insurance.

Funny how when you let people choose between being stupid and not being stupid they'll choose to not be stupid, but if you force them to do something against their will they will go against you, because they desire to make their own choices and not be forced to make them. Of course right now I'm contractually obligated to have comprehensive coverage on my vehicle, but at the least I'd keep liability coverage, at least until I had enough to get a surety-bond and thus cover myself that way.

All kinds of loopholes in the system if you have money.
