Yeah, and everyday the list of "sin" taxes seems to grow. You happy about that? I just can't get behind letting an out of control government decide what is and what's not a sin. With nationalized healthcare around the corner, how long before the government starts fining you for not putting in a hard workout at the gym? After all, "your" health is part of the collective, (sounds Borg-like) and why should we have to pay for "your" laziness/unhealthy choices? Can't you see where this is all going? They're stripping of us of our freedoms and doing their best to turn society into one like a colony of insects.

"Sin" shouldn't even be in the vocabulary of our elected leaders when it comes to governing the people.

I'm not religious, therefore, for me, there is no sin. So why am I being taxed according to someone else's morals and beliefs?

Yeah, I agree Sin should not be in their vocabulary.
All they should care about is the Facts
Was someone hurt?
Was something broken?
Was something stolen?
Was fraud commuted?
Thats it.

Not was he on drugs at the time?
Who cares, does it really change anything.

I don't mind the Tax on the roads in and of themselves.
I don't like the big brother aspect.
And no I have nothing to hide its just the principle of the thing.
I don't want tracking devices on my shit.

Call me names if you must but it seems we are getting close
to inserting chips in our right hands so we can buy and sell.
And I'm getting uncomfortable with the level of Prophicy in my legislation, LOL.

.

That just reminded me of this garbage I read the other day... some statistics the DOJ came up with to prove that marijuana does contribute to other crime.

They drug tested a bunch of people who got arrested and (amazingly, NOT) found that a large number of those people tested positive for drugs (namely, marijuana).

What's funny is that they completely fail to mention how many of those people were arrested FOR DRUG POSSESSION (which is like, 80-90% of all arrests nationwide).

OF COURSE someone who is arrested for pot possession is going to test positive for marijuana, and someone who is arrested for cocaine possession is going to test positive for cocaine. DUH. It isn't surprising at all that when the majority of people are arrested for drug possession, they're going to test positive for drugs! That doesn't IN ANY WAY link drug use with crime, other than the fact that drug use ITSELF is a crime.

Someone in another thread accused me of hating America.

They're right. I do hate America. It's fucking stupid. Our laws are stupid, and our legislators are even stupider.

And don't even get me started on the law enforcement in this country....

I believe the proposed tax would apply to everyone, equally. Republicans and Libertarians wouldn't be exempt.
THATS WHAT YOU GET FOR THINKING .
THE TAX'S PROPOSED ARE WHAT IS CALLED REGRESSIVE . I KNOW..YOU DONT KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS..THAT MEANS THE PEOPLE WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF MONEY PAY MORE PER PERCENTAGE OF THEIR INCOME THAN SOMEONE WHO IS RICH. IT IS GOING TO DESTROY THE POOR..SUCK UP THE MIDDLE CLASS'S EXPENDABLE INCOME THAT FUELS THE ECONOMY..AND THE RICH WILL JUST PAY IT ANYWAY..AND ADD THE COST TO THE BILL WHEN YOU BUY SOMETHING FROM THEM. dumb shits i swear liberals have no logic at all..obama is raping the poor fool.

You know what's funny? This tax was actually proposed by the US Transportation Secretary.. NOT Obama.

Guess what's even funnier? The transportation secretary is a REPUBLICAN!

Taxing by the mile will ensure the continued flow of YOUR money to the government if fuel economy improves. The present system of tax happens at the pump, the point of purchase. The next step monitoring your mileage and invading YOUR property with electronic widgets is simply the inevitable advancement of the totalitarian state. Welcome to the new brand of "freedom". So what if somebody has an electric non pollution emitting car...will they tax that too?
