I just don't see the Independent party taking a top slot in the next Presidential election. I think Paul has some very good ideas, but it's not hard to say that he would have done a better job. Practically ANYONE would have done a better job. That's how messed up things are now, and only getting worse.

I think Paul would get the door cracked open by being picked up as a V.P.

Look, I've conceded that Paul had a lot of things I liked, Less Military, pull troops out of foriegn lands, less foriegn aid to despots, end lobbying, reduce government, and many more, But, He was a de-regulator. He would open this country up to the likes of the Bernie Madoffs in this world. Want to know why he didn't get any big money? He was anti military-industrial complex. Had he actually had a chance, I would have re-considered my vote. I voted as much against McCain as for Obama. I'd hate to see what this country would look like now under McCain. We'd be for sure at war with Iran and most of our troops in Iraq would have been slaughtered. Iran has stated that the first thing they'd do if we declared war on them would be to invade Iraq with killing as many Americans as they could in mind. 1 million+ Kuds and another 2 million under arms invading Iraq, teaming up with the Iraqis to execute Americans, might not be a pretty sight. Keep in mind (after seeing how the Iraqis reacted to our troop pull out) that the Iraqi Army would gladly join the Iranians in the bloodbath. BTW, the Iranians have some sophisticated weapons themselves, outside of Nuclear, they could pretty much match us weapon for weapon. Maybe a little less on air power.

Whatever tech you think they have, we have something generations better. Some of the equipment I worked on in the Military is still considered "Super High Tech" for the civilian world, and that was 20 years ago.

That's the problem with too many Americans. Peer pressure. I always thought the idea was to vote for the most qualified not for who you think will win.
