In the USA that would be one sneaky way to not pay out SS benefits. Retirement at 90.

They wont jack it that high that quickly, maybe by 2030 it'll be that high.

Where's Med the Enslaver... he might have to start working again if the government just takes his benefits away. Seems to me that he'd be a logical person to have some thoughts on this.

When the raise the age limits, all those who are currently collecting SS will be grand-fathered in. Hee, hee ... no pun intended.

Actually, it already has started. They are raising it incrementally in months. IE starting a few years back, It started changing by age for full SS benefits. Example, My wife who is 8 years younger than me, doesn't get full benefits untill she is 67 and a few months, mine was 65 and 6+ months. If one does the math, the most money one can recieve up to a certain age is by retiring @ 62, Not available any more I believe, and then dying before you reach 75 or so, because after that you start losing money again. I chose the 62 option because of doing physical work all my life. I can see office workers working on into their 70s and beyond. By that time, their big fat asses will serve them well.

You can opt out of SS. I did twenty years ago, and have sailed far ahead of my benefits. It's not hard to beat the govt. when it comes to investments. I don't rob my own piggy bank.

So, if you are like 29-31, you opted out of SS when you were 9-11? I'll bet you saved a bundle in those times. Sometimes your stories get a little wierd.
