So, Hey righties, How do you think the drug war would differ under McCain?? I say it would still be full steam ahead, what say you?

As much as I hate to say I agree with you, I do. Before we get all excited though, there are many hurdles in the way of changing Federal drug laws. The president can't do it by himself with an executive order, the laws themselves will have to be changed. Undoubtedly, there are sure to be challenges that will end up in the SC. It's a step in right direction for sure, but let's see how this plays out. I'm certain there will be some nasty strings attached to full fledged legalization/decriminalization. Now that he's trying to push through socialized medicine, I'd assume that because the "collective" is paying for everyone's healthcare, mandatory drug testing could very well be one of those strings. I wouldn't get out those pom-poms yet.

I suppose so, but I believe it is still full steam ahead now. The czar is not for legalization, sounds to me he just does not like the term "war on drugs". He says he would favor treatment over incarceration, well, we'll see. BTW, the conservative candidate I voted for is really against the war on drugs. McCain is just as big a douchbag as obama. Believe it or not med, a lot of righties on here(maybe even all of us?) do not like McCain or Bush.
