Default How to fix America

This is from an article in the St. Petersburg Times
Newspaper on Sunday.
The Business Section asked readers for
ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"

I think this guy nailed it!

Dear Mr. President,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's
economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies
that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned
bonuses, use the following
plan.

You
can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work
force. - Pay them
$1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the
following
stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings -
Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars
ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage -
Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!

PS If more money is needed, have all members in
Congress and their constituents pay their taxes...

Sounds like this is a good start

Ok, so do they then start collecting retirement? How about health care benefits fer all of those now newly unemployed ppl who are the highest risk bracket fer health? How about the fact that there are many ppl who dont like hand outs and wud rather work, especially since none of us TRUST the government?
I'm just curious. Nifty lil idea, tho!

Lol, yeah the 'trickle down method' for economic stimilation is a nice idea, but not pragmatic to say the least. Lol, but this idea would lead to almost immediate disaster, although I like the sarcasm.

Absolutely brilliant, where do I sign? Can I get that Escalade with an auto-rolling feature? I paid off my house years ago in case everything took a dump, like it has. Guess they cant call me paranoid anymore, now I look like a seer of visions of yet to come. In lieu I will adopt a couple of ex Playboy bunnies who are down on their luck. They can work my small farm.....lol. Part of my personal stimulus plan.

I like the idea of having taxes forgiven for 2009, or 2010, either Income or Payroll.

Better than giving it to the banksters, and it puts the money in the hands of those that actually earned it.

(It, unfortunately is too late to forgive all taxes in 2008.)

Yes because printing up 40 trillion dollars would have absolutly no effect on the economy at all.

We should reinstitute a Jubilee year forgive all our debts, free all the minor criminals, erase all the credit cards, pay off all the morgages turn in all the paper money for gold dollars (30 to 1) just erase everything and start fresh.
