I don't think there was a ban on research as much as a ban on Government funding. It kinda goes back to the Anti-Abortion Lobby. While I'm against Abortion personally, even for fertilized eggs, I am not against fertility Clinics. These clinics destroy literally hundreds of thousands of fertilized eggs every year. These babies will never see life, it was never meant to be for them and If we can learn something about curing cancer from this then, well, so be it.

I can defiantly think of worse ways for the government to waste our money.

Souls dont go into bodies until they come out. Souls are drawn to bodies for a purpose. Unborn babies serve no purpose for souls. Why would a soul enter a recently fertilized egg? Just to kick it in a womb and not learn a thing? There's nothing wrong with abortion unless your an athiest. At least Obama did something not terrible.

If you've ever seen ultrasound of an unborn baby sucking his/her thumb responding to the music you play or the sound of his/her fathers voice you might have a different opinion. I'm not going to argue abortion here I just don't have the patents for it and I ain't changing your mind anyway. But don't presume to tell me when a soul enters a body, How would you know?? For that matter when does a soul leave a body, hmm?? when it slips into a coma? Why would a soul stay in a comatose body thats boring!

This was some of the best scientific news in a long time! The ban on stem cell research was fairly unfounded, as the deadline for collection was a long time before a nervous system or anything even resembling human life had formed. Ilkhan, noone harvests developed babies, as by definition, their stem cells have already been allocated to particular 'tasks'. And this isn't a topic about abortion, this has nothing to do with abortion. Stem cells from embryonic development are harvested from blastocysts cultured in a lab, they're not tiny little babies, they're balls of cells, no more human than fingernail clippings.
At least now, scientific development can continue, the potential for stem cell research is incalculable, let the good times roll.
