Default Just what is the far right?
Some precepts of the far right:
The term far right is mostly used to to describe fascism, Nazism and other ultra-nationalist and reactionary ideologies and movements.[
Left-wing publication New Left Review has called Ronald Reagan's policies "radical right".[10] The term radical right has also been used to refer to "a libertarian movement which places the individual squarely in the center" and has "even attacked such sacred taboos as taxation".[11]
In the 20th century the term right wing has also been used to refer to support for laissez faire capitalism and free markets.[4] The results can be seen in our present economy

Some examples of far right parties:
North America
  • United States
  • Modern Western conservatism was influenced by the works of figures like Edmund Burke. Burke argued against the idea of abstract, metaphysical rights of men and instead advocated national tradition: He put forward that "We fear God, we look up with awe to kings; with affection to parliaments; with duty to magistrates; with reverence to priests; and with respect to nobility. Why? Because when such ideas are brought before our minds, it is natural to be so affected".[6] Burke defended prejudice on the grounds that it is "the general bank and capital of nations, and of ages" and superior to individual reason, which is small in comparison. "Prejudice", Burke claimed, "is of ready application in the emergency; it previously engages the mind in a steady course of wisdom and virtue, and does not leave the man hesitating in the moment of decision, sceptical, puzzled, and unresolved. Prejudice renders a man's virtue his habit".[7] Burke criticised social contract theory by claiming that society is indeed a contract, but "a partnership not only between those who are living, but between those who are living, those who are dead, and those who are to be born".[8]
  • So you may ask, What's not to like about this? Actually, quite a bit.

Ok sport............I'll bite.........

I wonder how you feel about Jonah Goldberg's book - Liberal Fascism. I mean if the leftists can define the right and have it thus proclaimed as truth, I see no problem in letting the right define the left. Wouldn't that be truth as well? So, I'll use that as my resource because it has extensive notes.

Tell me about Eugenics movement med. Tell me what party and what ideologies supported hitler? American Liberals/ errr Progressives were enthralled with Lenin, Mussolini (especially), and Hitler. Because these were the vanguard leftist movements of the 20s and 30s. Nazism or Fascism IS right wing when placed next to Communism and Socialism....It is certainly NOT laissez faire.

Woodrow Wilson, was the cutting edge of Socialism, in this country.....What did he give us? The Federal Reserve! When remarking on Thomas Jefferson's quote that the best government is that which does as little governing as possible Wilson proclaimed "But that time is passed. America is not now and cannot in the future be a place for unrestricted individual enterprise." - Ronald Pestritto, Woodrow Wilson and the roots of modern liberalism..
Progressives were in awe of technology and the industrial revolution and sought to harness the powers of both to restrict individualism for the purposes of managing and molding society on their terms. They were threatened by the mobility of the masses that markets enabled.

Its funny, you barely mention libertarianism or Ron Paul.....both of which are massively to the right. Further right than all those parties you listed. I see no mention of Ayn Rand, or of Objectivism.

If you wanna claim all modern conservatism comes from Burke, where am I wrong in claiming all modern liberalism comes from Karl Marx?

If you go far enough right, you meet the far left. Or vice versa.

Haven't read it, don't need to. All one has to do is look around and keep his mind open. The truth comes creeping out. We have been pushed to the right by greedy corporate and government pricks so far, it is time for a large correction. Hopefully, Obama can bring us back to the middle. I'm pretty sure what I call middle you would call left, well too bad my man, we are starting to move left, hold on to your precious.....................

At least I tried to answer you presumption.

You merely run away in fear. You say you won't read a book, don't need to, and yet your mind is still open.

Goldberg traces the fascist roots of the left in this country supported by a 20 pg bibliography...........and med already knows it all.

As for corporation getting us into this mess.........

I offer the ultra-right response, from reason...

I know you are far more intelligent and passionate than these mortals, med, and so, I offer that link for mere entertainment purposes only.

Look Cheezy, there are leftists and righties. Somewhere in the middle there is some semblance of sanity. I hold to common sense to make that distinction. I don't need to read a book bashing either side. I can observe what is happening by reading and screening specific news media. The right has been in charge for quite a while, since Reagan, even Ray Charles could see that. The pendulum swings, at least I certainly hope it does.

The article is bogus. Anyone who compares the John Birch Society or The Constitution Party with the Nazi movement is deranged, ignorant, stupid, or just an out and out propagandist.

Cheesey ...

You have it pegged exactly right Bro. In fact, the first post you made in this thread is one of the best posts to appear in this forum. There are a couple of exceptions I would take though. The Nazis were socialists of the fascist bent. As Goldberg pointed out in his excellent book, Woodrow Wilson was a fascist as was FDR.

Also, let it be known that Med is an ultra Left Wing agitator who spouts nothing but unfiltered leftist propaganda. When dealing with Med, you are in fact, dealing with a cement wall and a mind that is slammed shut.

Geeze, and here I was beginning to worry about you. You haven't been around lately. I'm so glad you could come back and straighten out cheezy about me, Much thanks. But in point of fact, I have a very open mind and look at all sides before making up my mind. There are some things that I've studied since Nixon and have found to be extremely repugnant, and that is the view from the far right. Those selfish extremes are reflected here on this forum by people of your "ilk" (Your word), and need addressing by some semblance of middle sanity. Hence, my duty to inform.
