Sorry, I'm gonna have to do some research on Mike Gravel. You are right-on, on your assessment of Ron Paul though. I have to laugh at how the MSM tries to make him out as a nut case. Honestly, they don't have a clue. When it comes to the money issue i.e., Federal Reserve, Gold-backed money, ect. Ron Paul runs circles around them.

Here's Gravel's stand on The Fair Tax. Are you saying that you agree with this? http://www.gravel2008.us/?q=fair_tax

To be honest, I don't think so. But I agree with most of his other agendas and he probably couldn't get this past the congress anyway. I looked at the rebuttals and one I didn't see was this: what would make one think the corporations, who are the greedmongers of the world, would consider giving back the 20-25% they would reap in lost taxes, sounds pretty juvenile to think they'd give up a nickle. And here's another fact you might want to consider as far as wealth distribution:
If we divided the income of the US into thirds, we find that the top ten percent of the population gets a third, the next thirty percent gets another third, and the bottom sixty percent get the last third. If we divide the wealth of the US into thirds, we find that the top one percent own a third, the next nine percent own another third, and the bottom ninety percent claim the rest. (Actually, these percentages, true a decade ago, are now out of date. The top one percent are now estimated to own between forty and fifty percent of the nation's wealth, more than the combined wealth of the bottom 95%.)

Nice post. That is the first time in this forum I have seen anybody point at congress as a whole and not just blame one party or the other.

Cheers!
