Article one, section eight. Congress has the power to borrow money, levy taxes, and pass laws to improve the welfare of the US.

I'm not quite sure, but wouldn't saving up to 2.5 million jobs be helping the U.S.? Especially in these financial times. I think maybe not helping the Auto companies would send us deep into a depression. I am not an economist, but I'd bet Michigan, Ohio and a couple of other Auto Mfgr, affected states would be fucked plucked and stuffed.

Congress, one might say, has outsourced the responsibility to the Fed and the Treasury, giving them total control without oversight.
That power givin out by the congress is unconstitutional.
Congress has spent more time on baseball, then the bailout, that is now being redirected and congress can't even ask who, where, why or the money back.
Others might call it a strong arm tactic of the Fed and Treasury, and if that's the case where in a worse position then we think.

It's almost smarter to just pay these people to stay home, if it's about the working man only.
2.5 billion for 2.5 million people goes along way.
but we hand the big three that money, these people will end up losing their jobs anyway and the money is all gone.
That money can't/won't save the big three, but can/could save the workers.

Give them 25 billion so they can just run their companies into the ground again, no thanks.
