We also confronted our first graders teacher. She was sending home 4-6 pages of homework. After a couple, the kid would lose interest and we'd just finish it for her to keep from fighting, We finally have the homework down to 2 pages and she is fine with that, as long as we watch her and keep her on track. She is very intelligent, I guess it skipped a generation.
