No dude, we stopped being democratic and started being socialist with the advent of Social Security, particularly disability social security which = money for nothing. I have a family member on disability social security with free healthcare (medicare medicaid) and she was showing off the $100 shoes she bought with her tax return from earned income credit...can you believe that shit!?! America is a democratic republic, not a democracy. Democracy is an underlying philosophy of our government, as is socialism. As for Bill Marher, he's more of a patriot, and more outspoken about personal liberty and freedom than the chicken hawks sitting on capitol hill.
