parts of this bill require more transparency from the government, that's a good thing.

other parts will force activist organizations to keep mountains of records of who, when, where. smaller organizations simply can not afford the staff, materials and time this new law will demand of them. imagine if you wanted to start an organization to inform voters of new laws (ex. medical marijuana) but you had to document who first told you about it, when they told you, exactly what they told you, etc! instead of spreading the word - you now have to sit at a desk and document everything.

this is a HUGE step toward consolidation and conglomeration of powerful lobby groups! this is HUGE, do not miss it!

please contact your congressman today, tell them you support the federal transparency portion of the bill but the burden on organizations to record communications is too great and unneeded.

yeah, the ITR, internal thought regulation. this is literally a thought tax; unprecedented, blatant disregard for public involvement in legislative matters.


if you want to inform people then you'll inform them our way and it will cost you...
oh, you're not rich and powerful? hmmm, maybe we can setup some exemptions or something... maybe we can certify you as an official info distributor. in fact, why don't we just become the media and do all this for you peons, get the middle man out of the way??

Review of Statutory Barriers to Public Access Information-

• • (1) REVIEW OF STATUTES- As part of the report required under subsection (a)(3), the Archivist shall examine existing Federal statutes that allow Federal agencies, offices, or contractors to control, protect, or otherwise withhold information based on security concerns.

• • (2) RECOMMENDATIONS- The report shall make recommendations on potential changes to the Federal statutes examined under paragraph (1) that would improve public access to information governed by such statutes.......................................... ........................... I pretty much saw this bill as a White house conditional policy bill with allowing more public access to white house shennanigans and making the white house post all contacts with "crooks" otherwise known as lobbiests. The absolute removal of lobbiests from the governmental system, I would view as a good thing. All you constitutionalists should be glad to see lobbying taken out of the frey. Where in the constitution did it mention lobbiests taking over the control of congress and the white house. I'm for 1 man-1 vote, not one lobbiest delivering thousands of votes, Or a huge campaign contribution, whether it's a union lobbiest or a Pharma lobbiest.

they've got you hook line and sinker, you must be as blind as a bat.

it's one thing for the federal government to further compound it's own work load and require more high-paying/low-value jobs (archivists) but as i said in the first post, this bill will require EVERY organization which provides info to the public concerning legislative action to document each and every contact with elected officials. they will have to hire new pointless people and they don't have access to imaginary funds like the government does.

obviously, the purpose of this is to stifle the efforts of small watchdog groups.

the elitist dems don't like hearing from their constituents so they want to silence the people keeping them informed. this isn't about lobbyists at all, it's about elitists not wanting to be bothered by the little people.

the left doesn't want the small orgs to keep us informed, they want the big lobby firms to have all the power of disseminating info.



i just hope everyone understands how terrible this law would be for our country. another assault on the average American by the socialists party.
