this is a perfect year for a protest vote. two deeply flawed major partuy andidates, both of them for big, intrusive government, and neither party wiling to compromise for the benefit of the country.

personally, i am tired of the spin by both sides and their supporters in the media. you never get to hear a balanced view and that drives the ordinary person to take one of the two sides without being realistic about their shortcomings.

oh yea, and neither candidate will legalize pot, so who cares about the election anyway - jk, i have four children and their future is at stake but it does piss me off.

What pisses me off is it doesn't really matter who we vote for, the electorial college votes for whoever the hell they want. Just ask Gore, not that I'm a fan of his but I think he'd of done better than Bush.

Palin is quite simply a WTF for everybody but "social conservatives" (ie, single issue Christianists who are unable to vote for anybody who is "not like them").

She is a terrible choice for VP. Her candidacy is falling apart, and the fact that McCain nominated her before thoroughly checking her out speaks volumes for his judgment and management style.

Obama by a landslide.

gore didn;t lose because of the electoral college, but i am not defending it - its an antiquated system.

gore lost because 200 more votes that could be reasonably validated were counted for bush than for gore. it was agonizingly close but probably as fair as such things can be.

and not sure that gore would have fared any better against 911, katrina and the mortgage crisis.

I just think we're screwed but we aren't going down alone.

When Washington decided it was fine and dandy to send all our jobs off shore they must not have been thining that those tax dollars make up their paycheck.

Washinton blatently disregards the issue of illegals in this country. Those illegals love to get paid cash, more tax dollars that aren't available.

I've getting sick of being taxed to death to make up for the above bullshit and am really considering changing my withholding so they take out pretty much nothing. Then just don't file. They'll never notice. I know people who haven't filed for years and they just don't seem to be struggling quite as hard to survive as me.

I'm just ready to completely revolt. They want me to pay them to tell me I can't smoke weed? Fuck a bunch of that shit. They do whatever the hell they want and I'm hopping right on that band wagon.

I guess some people on this site think they are soooo smart, Hah. Whomever wrote this must have had some insight into the womans past. I wouldn't take it word for word, but it surely does raise questions about her. Maybe instead of yelling at the poster the "brainiac" should research for himself and post the rebutal, just saying.

I seriously doubt we'd be in Iraq if Gore had been elected.

agreed, but we might have been in darfur or pakistan or iran. can we agree to disagree on iraq? i think a reasonable (ie me) person might have gone into iraq with the knowledge at the time. hindsight is humbling.

We would not be in Darfur. Speaking of Iraq, anyone else catch the news that their government has just made their very first big oil deal? Wanna know who gets to mind the wells? CHINA!!! Fucking rich!

Med, you know he'll be coming back with actual facts, so you just pull those bunched up panties out of your ass and set a spell, let the smart people do the thinkin' for ya.

He wasn't calling you a dumbass, he was calling the bloggers/reporters who twist and spin things dumbasses. If I may be so bold.

By the way, I would never have expected McCain to select someone who wasn't clearly Christian, wasn't conservative about everything (including the environment), and who wouldn't shake things up. He knows how close this race is, he knows this is his last Hurrah, and he's taken the Obama bull by the horns by selecting Palin. She shakes EVERYTHING up. She shakes up the Christians, she shakes up the neocons, she shakes up liberals for sure.

By the way, there is actually not sufficient pre-anthropogenic data for science to state unequivocally that global warming (climate change/manipulation is what I like to call it) is solely induced by human activity.
