Default And why are politician not interested in discussing Pot?
Was looking at the norml blog today and ran across the blog Norml did for TheHill.com and looked at the responses to this blog compared to all the other blogs written on the site, almost 200 responses for this one and when I jumped around and saw the number of responses to other issues written about on the site I was amazed. I picked a couple of topics like immigration, birth control, Oil profits, SS and retirement age, Iraqi fiscal accountability and a few others, I figured these topics are just as controversial or popular topics to discuss. You know how many responses those issues were getting? The next highest amount of responses to a blog was 5!!!

200 vs 5 shouldn't this tell these guys if nothing else, that there constituents are talking about it and maybe they should start opening the lines of communication on this topic. This is one more topic that can either connect or disconnect a politician from the younger vote, if that vote is even important at all to them. I mean Corporations contribute the most, then bankers, lawyers, wealthy owners of these corps and their circle of influence, then actual constituents (breaking down into the social economic diversity of their district. So I guess if they have a large segment of young voters it might matter.)

"Unfortunately, marijuana is often the blind spot of drug policy. While teen marijuana use is down sharply, adult use - with all the social, economic, and health consequences that go along with it - will not improve until we start being more honest with ourselves about the seriousness of this drug. Too many of us are in denial, and it is time for an intervention."

yes, let's be more honest about the seriousness of this drug. it is in fact not a drug at all, but a plant. a plant that can sometimes make you sillier than the laws we did not agree to abide by because we have no voice in deciding them. Too many of us are in denial, and it is time for an intervention...of truth. Legalize!
