Cloning for idiots or in my case idiot need help fellow growers

I added this to a forum years old so thought I would make a new one need help cloning The people who make the cloning machines say to keep the ph at around 5.8 on the ez cloners so I added a little lemon juice ph down and a little vinegar to get mine down to 6.0 so I didn’t add to much of one thing I built the cloner from scratch and have like 13 jets on 1” pvc a 500 gph pump sprays extremely well not hard but covers everything in the 5 gallon tote reservoir I have 2 T5 grow bulbs I’ve made clones with in my fish tank not doing anything to get it I have six clones about 15 inches below the same light I cut at 45 with a new razor blade scored the outside skin of two cut down the middle of two and left the other two alone dipped all in Olivia’s cloning gel stuck in 2” mesh pots with ez clone collars also used rock wool on the last go around a grow tent with a humidifier measured humidity in tent is 80% on full blast and 60% on low I keep it around 70% I also have two air stones inside the cloner and have tried covering the clones with clear solo cups still no roots I’ve tried 3 times this time I added clay pellets in the pots and am now doing intervals to see if anything changes then I see my buddy cloning with his ez clone machine that looks identical to mine but less jets and smashing roots with the same strain oh I will also add I tried with a led grow light on the first run still nothing the only difference I can see is my water temps are at 80 degrees running 15/15 on/off 85 when running 24/7 on and so I kicked it down to 15/30 on/off The plants don’t die they just sit there and don’t root or grow just stay happy I posted some pics of my settup any help would be great lol these clones in pic are now 7 days old no roots I also added the rest of my setup to show I’m not a complete moron even though this will only be my second harvest last time clearing some good yields per watts lol I grew the two small ones from seeds and the big ones came from clones of the same mother my clones came from that my buddy gave me from his ez cloner he don’t understand what my problem is either. I also added pics of my fish tank which is more successful then this contraption I made lol oh and to whom it may concern I have a medical card and can’t grow 15 plants also sorry for punctuality I’m dumb and also stoned thanks guys

Huge post and I am not sure I followed all of it but I have a few suggestions.

1 change your water and get some ph up and down. It is cheap as hell and I have never had good results from adding things like vinager or lemon juice. Your ph really needs to be spot on.

2. Wait a bit. It looked like you were expecting roots within a week? I wouldn’t expect anything for 10 days min probably two weeks.

3. Try 24/7. I have been using ezcloners for about 10 years I’d guess, always with 24/7. Ezclone’s site states that water should be 70-85 and pump ran 24/7. They do suggest their rezclean stuff and I use that to prevent algae building up.

http://www.ezclone.com/faq/faq/

4. light issues. If you have T5’s 18 inches over your babies, you might be blasting them to much. I use a 2x4 t5 over a 62 site cloner and keep that at 3 feet or so, even higher in a grow tent. This last time I had the light as high as I could take it. Best closers I know use t12 shop lights.

5. Tent humidity. If you are at 80% you might be to wet. Ezclone doesn’t use a dome because the system maintains the humidity inside that machine. Anymore than normal humidity on the outside would increase your mold risk and slow down transpiration, thereby slowing your root development.

Obviously there are 1000 ways to skin a cat and I have seen all kinds of successful processes. These are just some ideas based on what I have found to work for me.

This lady great info thanks guys the response came quick to awesome sight I’ll give both a shot also gorilla glue guy what’s is the ph of your tap water?

its Cambium Enginerring ....thats all not rockescience ....but close!

as you are but stimulating the skin under the bark.. to grow out rootlets/knubs

thats all no nutes no blue moon no colored whore required and no lemon fuckin jiuce either ...lol

you can switch water for used engine oil should you choose

the water is the medium to grow out the knubs...to stop the knubs drying out ...no biggy

imo: first ensure you take your cuts from the lowerst point in the plant less (N)

as (N) prevents knubs from forming ensure its all light free I do use a low end cfl 24 hrs at about 300mm/12 inches

ensure you pump is 24/7 for 10 days after 10 days and no roots restart with fresh cuts

I often use a 25w fish tanks heater as I'm always doing my cloning in winter ...lol

water mother plant wait 24h before taking cuts

you can do fancy agled cut like other noobs or like me stratch into the bark

with finger nail to expose lower cambium

its the water the air the dark that does the work ...nothing else

but cutting cuts like to little trees does wonders

I clean all with 10% bleach beforehand

good luck

Ok so idk what helped but I kept the clones on the 15 min on 15 off changed the environment and put these bit&$ in a box with some emergency blankets for the reflection put the lights on 24/7 and switched out with straight tap water no ph tinkering my ph is at 8.0 and fucking presto 100% roots new cuts rooted in 3 days thanks guys for all the help I think it’s the straight tap to be honest that made them pop this site is awesome Vostok gorillaglue4u nurrgle good looking out guys hey another question after I get roots you guys wait for nutrition until they hit soil or add to water?

You will be fussing over them too much,Best just to leave them be once you have took them,Put them into a Propagator. With vents closed for two days mist twice a day first thing in a morning last thing at night,Make sure them Medium you use is not too wet or you just making it harder for your self ,Cut at 45 dg of a mother ,dip into clonee x,I do them so all the stem, right up to the first set of leaves is in the medium,This helps with the two day wilt, after about 5 days ,just mist once a day ,for 5/7 days ,then cut out misting ,and you will have roots in 14 days.Don't let the medium dry out keep it damp,I use just a normal cfl house lamp for cloning ,put them in a nice warm place ,room temp .

I made a DIY aerocloner similar to yours years ago. I decided it was overkill for cloning. Pumps, timers, etc... I now just clone in coco. I get roots in a week ready to transplant within two.

From this:

To this:

I just make my cuts, stick them in some coco and put them in dim light. No dome or anything else other than maybe an occasional spray of water if they start wilting which is rare. Saves a bunch of space and is much simpler with excellent results.

All you need for cloning is some solo cups with good soil in them. Take cuttings and put in soil and water. Easy peasy.

What did you use a timer for? I run mine 24 hours and get roots hanging into water within 8 days
Ah I misspoke. I was running 24/7 as well.
I just don't see the need to bother with a setup like an aerocloner when all it takes is putting a cutting in coco or soil. Don't get me wrong, aerocloners work and there is nothing wrong with using them. It just didn't fit into how I want to grow. I'm always looking for ways to simplify growing.

All good everyone does it different I just love how easy the cloner works for me in my setup. It's all about what works for what person
