Hello,

Apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere, but I have been searching for an answer for days with not much luck.

The background: I have just started making my own BHO. I am happy with the resulting shatter so far, but am looking to increase potency and purity, possibly in the interest of thinning it via some plant terpenes for use in a cartomizer.

My understanding is that to get my shatter next level, I will need to winterize it to remove plant lipids and waxes.

This is where my question comes in. It seems to me that almost everyone posting a how to winterize online states you may use ethanol, or in a pinch isopropyl. I have access to very cheap ($30/ gallon) denatured ethanol. The MSDS states only 4 components:
Ethanol 85.98%
Water 5%
Methanol 4.75%
Isopropyl 4.28%
An MSDS must include ALL chemicals as far as I know, this to me would seem to indicate that this particular denatured ethanol DOES NOT contain any methyl ethyl ketone or other Un-purgable poisons.

Can anyone please advise or confirm if I am safe using this to winterize my BHO? I am planning on vacuum purging after winterization, probably 20 to 45 minutes at about 125f and -25mmhg.

Thanks in advance!

It will work if purged properly. The FDA set a standards for Methanol, a Class II solvent, of
30 mg/day and 3000 ppm. The Iso is a Class III solvent, with limits of 50 mg/day and 5000 ppm.

Both have a more pungent flavor than Ethanol.
