Hermies - is it worth growing out their seeds?

So a few months back one of my fem BKRs hermied on me. I was thinking, will all the seeds hermie too? So I saved a few.

I started a hermie seed ~4 weeks ago. No sign of balls yet.

I am not breeding any of these just interested in seeing the results.

We have 12 fem BKR plants going. The seeds used are from a hermie plant. These will continue to grow in their 4” pots until done. I will most likely dedicate a 400 hps for these at some point.

Other than seeds in the bud, the smoke is just as medicating as my non seeded BKR bud. Just saying.

I cant find it know but I read that if a auto hermies due to stress than you have a good chance of having female seeds. 1 of my girls from 1st grow hermied and I never knew until I was dumping buds out of my jar during cure found about 12 seeds

Personally I wouldn’t intentionally grow out herm seeds. I have fem seeds to last me years and years.

NOW - if I had no seeds and was young dumb and broke.…hell ya I would grow out herms. The seeds are a pita and that damn POP sound when you missed one sucks.

Lmao

my first grow was from bag seed. which is hermi seeds.

all 5 turned hermi pretty bad. but I also know I had light leaks and my temps were stupid high.

I have learned so much since back then. still have the seeds I pulled out of my first buds.
want to try them again.

All feminized too

I need to transplant 3 of the biggest ones into larger containers. I have a couple ozs left and need some backup. :bigjoint: There will still be 9 hermie seed plants growing in the 4" pots.

My guess is maybe 2 of the 9 might hermie. What I REALLY think is all will be fems.:hump:

No point in throwing them away, unless you have plants, that you're worried about getting pollinated, growing at the same time. I would advise against using them for further seed production, though. They will have passed on their genetics, including the "hermie" gene(s) (very possibly a low stress tolerance issue), and you don't want that in a strain that you will be putting years into developing.

Not using these for anything but the herm test and some smoke. Hairs are starting so I started a weak nute feeding today. I’ll grab a pic next time I go out and rip on da Buddha. bongsmilie

Would seeing a couple nanners at harvest be considered a herm or must both pistols and sacks be present ?
What is a "text book" definition of a hermie?

And please no pictures of your drunk nights in Thailand when you met Lola (hermie) ;-)

I've never experienced nanners or herms in my personal grows but have seen in our warehouse medical grows. Light seeping under a door is all we could figure.

I had some Platinum OG that went herm on me. Never actually saw any bananas but the entire tent seeded out. Kept all the seeds for a project just like yours. From the looks of the seeds i'd say there mostly if not all fem. I'll be keeping an eye on this to see if it's worth my time.
