Anybody have some info on em 1? I see it my local store but do you use it as a stand alone inoculant or is used for bokashi? The application rate seems high, is there way to make it last longer? I would like to use it to help break down some things in my soil a little faster.

It’s probably a good product, if it true living “bugs” you could probably get away with cutting their product use recommendation in half. Tilled mycos, worm juice, molasses with aeration is just as good.

I personally use roots organics “Oregonism” powder. With the above recommendation.

Which brings up the importance of PREPPING organic soil months before planting time.. i have found that inoculants help this along.

Yes, you can expand the concentrate a good bit. For example, the 12oz bottle can be expanded to make 2 gallons of expanded EM-1.

I've found that bokashi bran works best for me over using just the liquid. Locally a big bag of wheat bran is $16 and lasts for years,

There is a bunch of 'how to' vids on youtube, both on how to expand the concentrate and making bokashi.

Good luck!

It's great in the worm bins, added to mixes, or added to compost piles.

Plus, you really can experiment with it. Besides the wheat bran I've also made bokashi bran with alfalfa meal and coffee grounds. Some even use newspaper.

Get the smallest bottle of concentrate you can. For 10lbs of wheat bran all you need is 30ml of the expanded EM1. So even just a gallon goes a long, looong way.
