My soil is too wet & wont dry out.

I have a 5 week old autoflower I keep in my garage and the soil is always too wet. I overwatered it a week ago and it only dried out slightly. The humidity is around 66% and temp is around 10°C. I can see that algae is starting to grow on the surface of the soil. I know I need perlite, I'm still looking for it. Any suggestions on what I should do?

When I grew in soil I used cloth pots,I had very good luck with the grocery bags that you reuse.They were only .99.

Put lots of holes in the pot and raise your temp. Invest in better pots. Water by weight of pot, if it's heavy leave alone if it's light water it. Remove the top 10mm of soil that has the mould on it before it takes over. GL

Why didn't you fill the pot up with soil. You left allot of room for root growth out.

Way too cold. Roots likely rotting. Plant will likely go yellow then purple.

Raise root temps ASAP. Space heater. Heating pad. I saw a diy pad made with a cheap electric blanket and some thin laminate.

Ideal temps 23 Celsius day. 18 night.

if you watered it when the dirt was still wet and the pot heavy, thats over watering.
water when dirt is dry only.
low lights+low air flow+low grade soil+ low temps(?) could = less than perfect results right?
plant is cold, slow growing now, stunted forever, needs warm love to give some buds up

Looks like you pulled some leaves off too.

If nothing else add some small river rocks or hydroton. Little to no drainage is not good. Also 10 degrees Celsius is pretty cold add a heater.

I don't see any pearlite in that soil.
I usually use about 20% which allows for drainage - pure soil is like a sponge.
Repot with a better mix & warm it up unless you want to end up tossing it in the bin.

I will be transplanting it into a grow bag soon along with some perlite.

I will transplant it to a bigger container as soon as the soil is dry enough. And i finally found some perlite so i will definitely mix that in.

Don't let soil get cold. The urea converting bacteria can stand the cold and keep on producing ammonia, while the bacteria that break down ammonia goes to sleep.
Soil needs a certain amount of organic material to help water and air move inside. The best way to do this is to establish a green cover of multiple species for a while before planting your weed.

personally i would use a bigger light to bring the temps right up and a heater at lights off

although because its auto your yield is probably gonna be highly compromised now

Pictures are deceiving, but that plant looks small. Maybe like 20oz of water small. If you watered that pot a week ago and its still wet edge to edge. Cut your watering way down in volume. You might have to water more frequently but its better than mold.

Personally, I would just mix up a new batch of soil with perlite. Transplant her. Yah, yah Oh your going to shock her.
Better to shock her now and get some better drainage, then going through what you are doing now.
