Help me build 4 vertical strips for my tent

will get more pictures up this weekend.

bogglegum is female, woohoo !!!! tent full of ladies

all plants are still suffering from a mild case of root root. H202 and pool shock have forced the root into a slow retreat.

plants are starting to stretch now. well, except for the bogglegum. it's only about 14" tall after 3 weeks into flower. if that plant was in my hps tent it would soon suffer light deprivation with the other 3 much taller plants in this tent. i expect the GTH's to top 3-4 ft and same goes for this pheno type of mk-ultra.

the little bushy bogglegum will soon lose close proximity to the two overhead horizontal strips as the gth beside it grows taller. but it is still surrounded on 4 sides, so this will be a good test of the side lighting.

gth's and mk are 18-20" tall.

like i said, pics this weekend.
How are you finding growth under the canopy?

Hang a 6 bulb T-5 fixture vertical and use a 400 watt HPS horizontally. More light for cheaper. Those buds need more light bre.
this is LED only. the goal has changed since i started this thread. if it doesn't produce well i will add more LEDs or relocate them all to overhead.

i am running another tent with a 600 hps in it so i got that covered.

just gonna play it out for now. plants also have a minor case of root rot which isn't helping.

buds are definitely not swelling as much as they do under an hps.

its either the strip configuration or the root rot for the first 4 weeks of flowering. or combination.

still going so we will see, ghost train haze a nice look and smell

i was a little overdue for a reservoir change and when i opened the tent the bogglegum was dropping. i checked the TDS and its 2100 PPM. WTF? All the other rez's were fucked up too.

these plants don't have root rot anymore, i killed it, but may have damaged the plants in the process.

too much pool shock? H202?

anyway, i changed out all reservoirs last night and will put new nutes in this evening. sure hope the bogglegum has recovered when the lights come on. i'll take a picture later.

so it is not fair to blame the lack of thick buds on this LED configuration alone, as i have been nursing sick plants the whole time. i may add a vertical bare HPS bulb in this tent tonight, in an attempt to gain more yield.

either way, i will have to run this experiment again with strong healthy plants

Sorry to hear of your root rot problem, since I've incorporated the 4 vertical strips into my setup I've noticed a nice increase in growth all around the plant, The lower bud sites are definitely alot chunkier I've noticed than my previous grow.

well that was my original plan, then i got carried away and am trying to eliminate 1 of my hps lights, lol

Here is a quick shot I took this morning of one of the side colas, you can see the bud towards the bottom has some decent growth, it is currently 23 days since I switched to 12/12. this is under just the 3000k and 2000k.

ok, it's really sad , as i have never had a hydro setup fail this way. however, rez changes and new nutes for the next week or so and we will see if things improve or i should harvest this small yield and move on.

the gth buds look and smell the best.

the bogglegum is the worst and believe it or not it looks a little better tonight.

on another positive note, the bogglegum has a slight grape bubblegum smell. have clones of this one and will be flowering again.

Some peroxide and/or bleach added to the rez will kill off any remaining pythium without harming the plant. Then you can add in beneficials at the next rez change.
